Rumah Pesik Art & Heritage Hotel

Our first time in Yogyakarta we couldn’t have chosen a more authentic place to spend few nights, room was beyond comfortable and spotless, felt back in time with the whole history of the building. The hotel manager was far the best host to get us comfortable soon we got to the hotel and even showed us the place and told us all about the heritage that is present there, everyone speak amazing English. We where very pleased with our experience and looking forward to come back ☺️☺️

For first timers is not a easy location, the street where the entrance is, cars cannot get in but we found our way, it’s not a bad thing but just something to keep in mind when booking 😉

Amazing artwork collections

The bathroom could do a bit of maintenance but it was ok. Tiles very slippery when wet.

There is not a single thing that we didn’t like about this place! But what we loved the most was its history, all the beautiful sculptures and historical objects in the garden and in our room. We have never stayed in such a special place. The hotel is an old palace owned by the royal family of Indonesia, which in itself makes it incredibly special. Our room was beautiful, with amazing lamps, a beautiful wooden bed frame and a gorgeous wardrobe. It felt so special to wake up in a place like that. The staff members were also incredibly kind. The hotel manager came up to us during breakfast and told us all about the place, its history and some of the special guests who had stayed there — presidents, popes… incredible! It was really nice to learn more about the place. I would recommend that the staff always share some insights with guests staying at the hotel, as it really adds a lot of value and helps you understand what makes the place so special. Breakfast was really good, and we also ordered dinner at the hotel a few times, which was very convenient. There is also a brand-new outdoor gym, which is very well equipped — a great bonus if you want to stay active during your stay. The hotel offers a free tour of the museum for guests staying there! Make sure to join it — it’s another very special thing to do there. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

The ambience was terrific, with beautiful works of art everywhere. It was like staying in a museum.

The handbasins in the bathroom looked as if they needed a good clean, but apart from that, the place was quite clean. More variety for breakfast would have been good. Some information about the local area - e.g. places to see, to eat - to provide tourists would be helpful. Replacing my bottles of water as I had used all of them, would also have been good.
