Atlas Berber Lodge

The staff really would like you to enjoy the stay so the do their best and even more. When my wife was interested to see how the tajine is cooked they offered her to watch and prepare our own meal - so in fact we got a free cooking course. (They cooked the most excellent tajines btw among all places we ate in Morocco, our kids wanted to eat the chicken one for three days straight). The rooms are clean and well equipped, the terrace has such an amazing view that you will never forget.

Driving up and down from the village was a stress each time. The road is very narrow and steep on some places and local drivers simply do not stop where it would be most logical to pass each other but go front as much as they can and then you both measure the centimeters not to scratch each others cars - as if reverse gear would not exist at all, or using it would be a personal defeat. It was also bit contraproductive that during checkout the staff insisted to give a positive review right then on Google. (I still give you a 10, but please do not push guests right on the spot!)

Amazing views overlooking the city. Very close and convenient for the beginning of the hike to toubkal. Great value for the money.

The road up to the property was difficult, some people cleared instructions about arrival and parking would be great.

Very nice views over the Atlas Mountains and the dinner and breakfasts we had were yummy.

The staff were not very helpful and often no one was around for us to ask questions, I wanted to go on a full day hike and the owner said we could plan it with a guide the night before but no one was around and it had to be planned last minute in the morning and was only 4 hours. The lounging areas were also not laid out for us (cushions etc). They did arrange our taxis which was useful However it was a long and dark walk back up from town - about 30 minute in the dark which didn’t feel safe.
