Unfortunately, I did not have an opportunity to experience Las Casitas Village. Upon arrival, I was informed about a "glitch" that resulted in my reservation being processed on the day of the reservation (vs 3-4 wks prior when the reservation was booked) and they were unable to honor my reservation. I was directed to the El Conquistador hotel and booked to a room that was obviously not used -- in need of maintenance and upkeep including a sofa bed mattress with rust stains from the metal, a broken shower knob, and mildew stains. The hotel is much busier and louder -- I reserved Las Casitas for a quieter setting -- and paid more than what the hotel room was listed for! Although the staff tried to be accommodating, I was not provided any reimbursement for the price differential, so I overpaid for a very sub-standard hotel room. One lesson learned: Had this been booked directly with the property, the "glitch" would have likely been avoided and/or they would have done better with honoring the reservation with something more comparable or a partial refund. The resort is beautiful, but I left disappointed about not having the experience that I was expecting.
