Le Journey Luxury Cruise

The cruise itself was lovely, and the landscape was absolutely fantastic. We really enjoyed the experience and definitely recommend staying for one night to make the most of it.

We booked two connecting rooms, which was very convenient for our family. However, there were a few issues that affected our stay. The bathrooms only had bathtubs, rather than showers as shown in the pictures. This was particularly difficult for my mum, who had trouble climbing into the bathtub and therefore couldn’t shower. This would have been important information to know when booking. We also found it difficult to get assistance when needed, as there was often no one at reception. In addition, the staff seemed to leave the microphone on continuously, which created a constant background noise that could be heard from the rooms and was quite disturbing. The biggest issue was during our first kayak excursion. We were asked to choose between kayaking and taking the bamboo boat. I chose the kayak, but I was travelling with my 5-year-old daughter and found it extremely difficult to reach the cave by kayak. We were not given any information beforehand about the distance or level of difficulty. After trying and realizing that it was too difficult for us, we returned. We still had around 45 minutes left in the excursion, so I asked whether we could take the boat instead to visit the cave. Unfortunately, we were told that this wasn’t possible, meaning we had to wait for the remaining 45 minutes until the group returned. However, during the final 10 minutes, another person from our group was allowed to use the kayak after having already taken the boat. This was disappointing, especially as we were travelling with a young child and had not been given enough information to make an appropriate choice at the beginning of the excursion. Overall, the cruise was beautiful and the scenery was unforgettable, but better communication, more attentive reception service, quieter operations, and clearer information about the excursions would make the experience much better.

The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Nothing was an issue. Andrew and Leone was very helpful and attentive when we needed assistance. Would recommend this cruise to anyone wanting to experience this beautiful experience.

Walking in is definitely impressive compared to the outside and it looks nice from 5 feet away. The evening meal was very good, lots of flavours and very well presented - my favourite part of the trip.

The outside of the boat is very worn, but okay it’s the inside that counts. Everything was damaged and broken. The room needed a lot of TLC and it just was not a 5* experience. I also feel I overpaid massively. Talking with some other people, they paid less than half of what I did, had a pool on board, had rose petals thrown over them as they boarded and it looked much nicer. There was just lots of broken things in the room and lots of chipped flooring. I was also next to the kitchen so I could constantly hear the staff talking and dropping things, there was also a lot of diesel smoke and fumes inside the boat near this area, but the door to the cabin did stop a lot of this. The top deck had no cushions on the chairs and not enough chairs. The lunch/buffet was average, breakfast is served at 06:00-06:30 and of course everything on board is very overpriced so take your own drinks on board. I would avoid this cruise for a one time experience, this is not the one.
