Very dirty hotel. The room smelled so bad I felt like vomiting when I entered. Bed was messy, restroom had no door, and the TV wasn’t working. Really disappointing stay.

The room is not cleaned daily and you can see dust and dirt. Not sanitary.

Nice and good for budget

I booked a Quadruple Room through Agoda (***) for June 6–7, 2026 for 2 adults at Max Travellers Inn by RedDoorz. The listing clearly advertised a 22 m² Quadruple Room with 2 double beds, air conditioning, private bathroom, bathtub, Wi-Fi, and free bottled water. My friend and I intentionally booked this hotel because it was only about 10 minutes from Mactan-Cebu International Airport, allowing us to avoid leaving our homes in the middle of the night for our 4:00 AM flight. Upon arrival, the experience immediately went downhill. The staff informed me that I had supposedly booked only a standard fan room, despite my Agoda reservation clearly showing a Quadruple Room with air conditioning and a bathtub. That made absolutely no sense. If I wanted to stay in a basic fan room, I would have simply stayed in my own house, where I already have air conditioning, and left a few hours earlier. The only reason I paid for a hotel was for the convenience of staying close to the airport in a comfortable, air-conditioned room for the night. To make matters worse, the staff had the audacity to tell me that the amount I paid through Agoda wasn't even equivalent to their basic room rate while pointing at a whiteboard with handwritten room prices. If guests are expected to follow the hotel's own rates, then what is the point of booking through Agoda? Why partner with an online booking platform if you refuse to honor the reservations made through it? Since the room had already been fully paid online and we had no practical alternative at that hour, we had no choice but to stay. However, we were forced to pay an additional fee just to get an air-conditioned room, which should never happen when the reservation already included one. The staff's attitude made the situation even worse. They were dismissive, inattentive, and disrespectful. They would literally walk away in the middle of a conversation and showed little interest in listening to or resolving our concerns. Customer service was practically nonexistent. Another major security concern was that guests are not provided individual room keys. Instead, the staff keeps a master key, meaning every time you leave the property, you have to ask someone at the front desk to unlock your room when you return. While I'm not accusing anyone of theft, having your own room key is one of the most basic expectations when staying at any commercial accommodation. This setup made us feel uncomfortable and lacked even the most basic sense of privacy and security. The room itself was also far below acceptable standards. The biggest example of false advertising was the bathtub. The Agoda listing specifically advertised a bathtub as one of the room amenities, yet there wasn't one anywhere in the room. Instead, the bathroom was simply separated from the bedroom by a shower curtain, and there wasn't even a proper bathroom door. As a result, unpleasant odors from the bathroom spread throughout the entire room. Beyond that, the property appeared poorly maintained and neglected: • The shower curtain was visibly stained and dirty. • Mold, mildew, and grime were present around the bathroom tiles and grout. • The shower plumbing was exposed, making the bathroom look unfinished. • The ceiling showed signs of water damage and staining. • There were damaged curtain rails and exposed wiring near the entrance. • The ventilation area was dirty and appeared neglected. • Furniture was heavily scratched and worn. • The television had dangling, exposed cables with no proper cable management. • Overall cleanliness was well below expectations despite the bed being made. The photos advertised on Agoda present a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained room with amenities that simply do not exist. The actual condition of the property was nowhere near what was promised. This experience felt like a classic case of false advertising. We paid for one room but were told we had booked something entirely different, charged extra to rece
