    I picked the place for the walking distance to the ferry terminal and the craft beer brewery I wanted to go. And the private room + common area(bathroom and toilet) have everything I needed and the little shop and kitchen was also good. I just happened to be on a lucky day when the owner and one of the customer went fishing and got many fish for dinner. They kindly shared the sashimi and stewed fish with all of us and we chatted over the feast! I also had a folding bike with me and I was able to park it near my room under the roof. There were some bike for rent, too even if you don’t bring your own. I could easily spend a week there as it was very cozy. Something in between the apartment and the guest house but it has everything I needed. Since he’s often out for the sea, he is a bit difficult to reach. That was the only drawback I could find. After the check out, I went for a tour and caught in the rain but they let me use the shower in the common area. Appreciated! I would definitely go back!

    I stayed at Kuminoeki for 2 nights as a solo female traveller. The staff were so nice and tried to communicate with me in English as my Japanese is minimal. My room, which was in a converted shipping container, was very comfortable and had good AC. I felt very safe. The shower facilities were very clean. When I had to head back to the ferry port the staff offered to drop me off which was so nice as getting ahold of taxi or transportation can be difficult on the island. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here!

    It was a good place to stay, clean and the staff was nice. They also have electric bike rental, buggy tour service and a lot for you to try and have fun.
