We would like to visit Murshidabad again and again.

There were rats in the room. We were shifted 3 rooms in two days. There was no running water in the second room we had to come out almost naked as maintenance team wanted to check the issue. Third class hotel, nobody should stay in this hotel However food was good and the restaurant deserves full credit for good service and food quality and taste. People should not stay in this so called Rajbari but can have food in the restaurant.

Very well maintained property. The staff is excellent. Rooms are nice and clean. Food is ok. Only point of improvement would be to add windows to the guest rooms as they tend to become a bit claustrophobic.

I had booked a two-night stay at Cossimbazar Rajbari with considerable anticipation, hoping to experience the history and atmosphere of a heritage property. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of expectations. The overall management of the facility left much to be desired. The room allocation was bizarre and poorly handled – we were moved to another resort under some weird pretext for day 1 and it was not an isolated case as we met another family in the same resort who were shifted there just like us. Lack of office admin, record keeping and poor coordination with travellers like us made the entire experience feel disorganised. It was also disappointing to find that the present-day descendants, who are closely associated with the property, appeared preoccupied with their own personal affairs, leaving little sense of attentive hospitality or guest engagement. While one appreciates that maintaining an old heritage property comes with its own challenges, these cannot entirely excuse shortcomings in organisation, staffing and guest management. Cossimbazar Rajbari has considerable historical and cultural significance, and a stay here should ideally offer a meaningful connection with that heritage. Instead, I came away disappointed, feeling that the experience did not do justice to the place or its legacy. A heritage property deserves more than illustrious past and emotional resonance. It needs thoughtful management, adequate staffing and a genuine commitment to hospitality. Sadly, these were lacking during my stay. I hope the management takes this feedback constructively and makes the necessary improvements for future guests.
