    Gets full marks for almost everything. It does not have a regular running restaurant but there is an excellent one right next door in a hotel owned by a relative, so it is not missed. Breakfast is cooked and served in the hotel itself. The approach is somewhat difficult but it seems that the tarred road has been approved by authorities and should soon come up. If you are not travelling by your own vehicle, you will need to take an auto. It is somewhat remote from the ‘happening’ places but that has its own charms. The hotel will arrange an auto to take you around if your request them.

    Be it the approachability to this place or its proximity to the ocean, it stood as a 10/10 for me. The hospitality and service is praise worthy and the breakfast menu had varied items much to my liking. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and my interactions there.

    Kerala cottage is beautiful. The cottages are made in traditional Kerela style and appointed with aesthetic interiors. The location is perfect as it's 20 mins drive from main spots of Varkala. So you can enjoy the peace and quiet while being able to access the hustle bustle when you need. There is a tiny beach just outside the property. All the staff is very courteous and friendly. They tried to make sure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel provides breakfast only. For other meals, there is a restaurant in the adjoining property which is good. The breakfast in Kerala cottage was exceptional. They have an a la carte menu with good options. And everything is freshly prepared and delicious. Due to the small setup with limited cottages, the breakfast experience feels very homely. The staff also helped to arrange a scooty, gave me multiple ideas of scenic spots nearby. And they can also help with booking cabs and autos as needed. I highly recommend this place for a quiet break into nature.
