The setting was spectacular. The place was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The pool was absolutely lovely. It was an easy walk to the town. It was also a treat to meet Vincent and chat with him about the guesthouse and his paintings! And what a pleasant surprise to have a cat on the property! I wish we could have stayed longer.

We didn’t realize that 2 of the rooms shared a toilet. We each had a shower and sink. I believe the third room has its own toilet.

The location close to Lourmarin was excellent- the view from the terrace over the village and chateau was beautiful. The house would be perfect if you rented it all as a group but it seemed strange to rent a room in a house with complete strangers without the owners there or a traditional bed & breakfast set up. The rooms were well equipped but hot without the air conditioning (as we had no insulations how to turn it on) the pool loungers were very comfortable- the pétanque area needed weeding…

According to the description on booking.com we rented a room with private bathroom- to me that means you have a private toilet also. But that was not the case. We had to walk from our room, along a short corridor through another door to near the back door of the house to use the toilet. I then assumed that this toilet was just for us, but no. The couple in the front room had to walk from their room across the living room into the kitchen and to the back door of the house to use the same toilet as us. This was not clearly stated. In fact only 1 room had its own toilet. Room Melinda. There were no instructions about how to use the air conditioning, the WiFi code, what we could or couldn’t use. When we arrived there were open bottles in the fridge and food in the freezer, we really were not sure if the owners were living there also or the food had been left by others. I think a more comprehensive description of the set up and facilities and what to expect would leave guests not guessing what they had booked. 2 sets of different guests arrived during my stay and I had to explain the set up to them…. These issues could be easily ironed out with a better description and more information. There was some stains on the towels and pillows and dust and cobwebs in our bedroom. The pool needed a clean as there was a lot of dust in it, but there had just been 3 days of Mistral winds and this could have been the reason for the dirty pool, we brushed the sides and bottom and would have put the robot in to clean it if we had have known where it was… On saying that the property was really lovely, with a little more thought and attention to detail it would be excellent and worth the price (for me €200 per room per night was too expensive)

De rust, de mooie tuin, het fijne huis en een hele aardige gastheer! Alles was compleet. En ook heerlijk dat je via een leuk bospaadje in het dorp uitkomt (op loopafstand)
