About this cabin rental
The cottage is one of the rectory’s charming, culturally historic cottages that has lain dormant for the past 100 years but has now been carefully restored using traditional methods to preserve its unique character. The walls are clay-plastered and painted with homemade egg-oil tempera; the floorboards are wide and weathered; the ceilings are low; and the cozy atmosphere is incredible!
You’ll cook your meals on the wood-burning cast-iron stove, and if it’s cold, the cabin heats up quickly with a fire in the pipe stove or in the fireplace upstairs. A portable induction cooktop is tucked away, but to preserve the quiet and not disturb the feeling of a time that has stood still, the refrigerator and microwave have been placed in the bakehouse right next door.
Two rustically furnished bedrooms with exposed beam walls are located in the cozy attic. The mattresses on the beds are new and comfortable, and there are blackout curtains. For convenience, a modern bathroom with a shower and heated floors has been discreetly incorporated, but otherwise the cottage is furnished with as little plastic and modern amenities as possible. Laundry and cleaning are done using eco-friendly products.
The garden surrounding the cottages is available for use, complete with patio furniture and a grill. The family’s pool and pool deck are available from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, as well as by arrangement. Bicycles are available to borrow, and it takes about 8 minutes to cycle to the lake, where you can enjoy swimming and fishing.
The tenant’s residence is best rented together with the adjacent, smaller “Kusken” residence, which has one bedroom and a kitchen.
