Dimora Magica

Dimora Magica is truly a gem, we just needed a little time to explore it fully. I expected a newly renovated villa or boutique hotel but instead from the outside, you enter through an old building that looked a little dark and unassuming. Boy, was I wrong and I mean that in the best possible way. You'll find the same romantic rooms you saw in the pictures, along with that absolutely picturesque view from the balcony. That view over Bellagio and the mountains around you really is breathtaking!!! The bed is beautiful too but a little squeaky (if that’s even a word 😄), but very comfi. The place, the towels were clean and everything was there to simply switch off and relax. The rest is romance. Sometimes the neighbour was even playing the piano, and he was goooood. It just added another layer to an atmosphere that was already wonderful. And there’s another important point. 👇 Most people desperately want to visit Bellagio, we did too. But honestly? Bellagio can be insanely crowded. We visited for about an hour, got fed up with the crowds and happily headed back to our charming Menaggio. A really good selection of restaurants, bars and there’s that lovely italian vibe around the town. (One thing to keep in mind when visiting, though: authentic Italian places really do take their siesta seriously and often only open during certain hours of the day) but around the main square, there are places that stay open during and after the usual pausa hours. I don’t drive, so we climbed the stairs from the town centre up to Dimora Magica every day. (1,5km uphill) so it’s not for the faint-hearted, but honestly, we enjoyed it. It became part of the experience. If you drive, there is parking right next to the apartment. Must do while you’re here - Ristorante Pizzeria CO.RI (book a table via Google) - Villa Carlotta in nearby town Tremezzo (17 EUR pp but worth every penny) - A bottle (or two) of Prosecco on the magical balcony, enjoying one of the best views of Como (truly)

Our stay at **Dimora Magica** in Menaggio with Maria was truly magical and one of the best B&B experiences we've ever had. The apartment had everything a couple or family could possibly need, with thoughtful touches like fresh bread, milk, olive oil, herbs, and spices waiting for us on arrival. The terrace was breathtaking, offering stunning views of the mountains, the valley, and beautiful Lake Como. The location is perfect—just a pleasant walk to the centre of Menaggio with its restaurants and cafés. Nature lovers shouldn't miss the incredible **Anello del Parco Val Sanagra** hiking trail just above the property, with its beautiful scenery and charming waterfalls. Although the forecast predicted rain, hail, and thunderstorms every day, we enjoyed warm, sunny weather throughout the days, with the rain only arriving at night. Maria was an exceptional host—kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and highly recommend Dimora Magica to anyone visiting Lake Como.
