You will be at the centre of everything Nice has to offer: the Cours Saleya and its lively restaurants just 50 m away, the Vival supermarket 120 m away, the "Opéra Vieille Ville" tram station 150 m away, the Opera beach 160 m away, and Place Masséna 300 m away. The SNCF train station is 2 km away, and Nice Côte d'Azur airport is 7 km away. A perfect location to fully enjoy the city on foot.



STAY



The living room is both cosy and bright, air-conditioned for summer days and equipped with electric heating for winter stays. How to get to my accommodation in Nice upon arrival



I chose to arrive by air



Upon arriving at the airport, a wide range of transport options are available to you to get to your apartment:



The tram - The best market: Line 2 will depart in front of terminals 1 & 2, serves the entire city on the Sea Side, from the airport to Nice Port, in 25 minutes. All stations pass through Fabron, Grosso & Gambetta for the Flowers district, Alsace Lorraine and Jean Médecin for the Musicians, Gold or Masséna districts, the Pin district and finally the Port district.

A connection with line 1 is made at JEAN MÉDECIN Station.

A connection with line 3 is made at GRAND ARÉNAS Station.



Taxis: The most direct: They are present at each terminal 1 & 2. 15 minutes will be enough to drop you directly at your apartment. There is an official fixed rate that must be applied + the baggage rate. Make sure to inform yourself well and specify it to the driver; he cannot refuse it. Normally, the cost is payable by credit card.



The bus: The shuttle to the airport (bus 98) is both cheap and convenient. It runs every twenty minutes during the day and will drop you off in the city centre, near Nice Thiers Station.



I chose to arrive by train



The tram - The best market: To get to line n°1, exit to the left of the station and go down towards Thiers Avenue until Jean Médecin Avenue (indicated by signage). Trams pass every five minutes and the ticket has a low cost. Line 1 serves the centre and the two northern districts of Nice.

A connection with line 3 is made at GRAND ARÉNAS Station.

A connection with Line 2 (Airport / Port) is at JEAN MÉDECIN Station.



Taxis: The most direct: 15 minutes will be enough to drop you directly at your apartment. There is no fixed package. The driver must mandatorily activate his meter before leaving the station. You will only have to pay the fare displayed upon arrival + the luggage rate. Make sure to inquire and specify this to the driver; he cannot refuse it. Normally, the cost is payable by credit card.

Do not forget to have the complete address ready to be given to the driver.



I chose to arrive by car



There is always a public car park near your place of residence. The rate is:



• On time

• Per 24-hour day

• Per week

• Per month



It may prove to be more interesting to pay for a week rather than per day for stays longer than 4 days, and so on. Check the rate grid carefully at the parking entrance or go to the security post as soon as you are parked.

The apartment is nicely decorated, and the location in old town is excellent. They are very clear before booking about the five flights of stairs with no elevator access. The kitchen is well equipped with a stove, oven, kettle, nespresso, and French press. The balcony is not large enough to use the table and chairs provided, only enough room for standing, and the balcony doors are very difficult to open. The house rules of taking trash down the street were not given on the VRBO platform, only provided on a card given to me at check in. I didn’t have the WiFi information and contacted the office twice because I didn’t receive their first reply, which they weren’t kind about. I later found the WiFi information printed in a frame in the living room, which would have been nice to know to look for. There is only heat or air conditioning in the living room, so the bedroom was cold at night. Showers were also cold; after a couple minutes the hot water ran out every time. I wished I had brought slippers because the floors were not very clean.

Welcome by a person at the rental office. Apartment is on the 5th floor so 96 steps to reach it. Door to balcony would not lock closed so popped open occasional. Was told that a part had been ordered but not arrived. Apartment was reasonable clean but some of the cabinets were dusty and hadn't been wiped. The lights on a couple of the landings were poor so area was very dull at night.

The apartment itself is excellent and very clean & comfortable. The location is perfect and very central. This did mean that there was quite a bit of noise from the streets below, so we felt that the windows needed to stay closed overnight. There is an air conditioning unit in the front room though. Please be warned that there are A LOT of stairs leading to the apartment and NO lift - which is not a problem if you're young and fit, but wouldn't recommend for anyone with mobility issues. The inside of the building and staircase area is quite old and could do with some maintenance. There is paint peeling off the walls and loose wires everywhere. It has a rustic feel which is not unpleasant but did also seemed a little hazardous at times. All in all the apartment was perfectly located for our needs and we had a lovely stay. Thank you
