Alisse Stay Phuket Layan

We stayed for one night only but the accommodation was clean, quiet, and had a nice pool.

I recently stayed at the new Alisse Stay in Phuket Layan, and it was a major disappointment. Despite being marketed as a "new" property, it feels dated, poorly managed, and highly misleading in its room descriptions. Bizarre Policies & Misleading Room Layout The room was listed as a Suite Pool Room, which was more expensive than other options. I expected a private pool at that price point, but there is no pool attached to the suite—only a view of the common pool that was mostly obstructed by trees. • Wasted Space: While the room was physically large, it was mostly useless, empty space with no functional layout. • The "10,000 THB Fine" Door: Shockingly, there was a large door inside the suite with a sign warning that opening it would result in a 10,000 THB fine per day. This was never mentioned during check-in and is easily the most bizarre and unwelcoming thing I have seen in any accommodation. Cheap Quality & Missing "Basic" Amenities For a "Suite," the lack of basic necessities was staggering: • Zero Kitchen/Coffee Basics: Despite having a microwave and washing machine, there were no utensils, no kettle, no coffee machine, and no coffee/tea provided. • Hygiene & Grooming: There was no hand soap and no hair dryer in the room. • Poor Furnishings: The furniture is almost entirely made of cheap plastic. It’s flimsy, unstable, and feels incredibly low-quality. • Bathroom Issues: The shower water pressure is very weak, and the holder for the showerhead couldn't even support its own weight. Service & Environment • Staff: On a positive note, the housekeeper was friendly and professional. • Noise & Pests: The stay was far from peaceful due to heavy noise from neighboring villas and construction workers. To make matters worse, I encountered ants and cockroaches in the room. • Isolation: The location is poor with nothing nearby. Unless you specifically need to be in this exact area, look elsewhere. Inconveniences • Dated Tech: For a new property, using physical keys is a major inconvenience. • Useless TV: The TV is nice but has no channels or antenna. It’s just a paperweight unless you have your own Netflix or Prime subscription to log into. • No Accessibility: There is no elevator, so be prepared to lug your bags up the stairs yourself or seek assistance. • Lobby/Dining: The lobby shares a room with a florist and a cafe. The cafe doesn't serve proper meals, which is a problem given the isolated location requiring to order in or dine out. Not for Professionals If you are a digital nomad, stay away. There is no desk to work at in the room. They suggest you can work in their office, but that is not a viable or comfortable solution for anyone actually working. The Verdict: Alisse Stay feels like a series of cut corners and strange, unfriendly rules. Between the 10,000 THB "fine" sign, the lack of basic soap/kettles, and the cheap plastic decor, I cannot recommend it.

Great facilities but not near anything so you will need transport. Nice stuff & clean room with washer. Good deal for the price.
