Le Villandry

This was a great place for an overnight stay, arriving from Calais in the early evening, and heading south the following day. It’s comfortable and clean and attractively done, and has everything you need for such a stay, including an oven which we used (took a while to work out how! as it’s also a microwave, but instruction book is provided). Bakeries and a small supermarket are close by for breakfast provisions. For foodies, there’s a smart restaurant right next door. Béthune is a pleasant town with interesting history, and moving connections to World Wars 1 and 2.

The only thing we were uncertain about in advance was how we’d gain access on arrival. Instructions were sent to us on the day of our arrival. Basically (if driving)you pull up outside, use a code to gain entrance to the building, retrieve the keys from a key safe outside the apartment, get back in your car, use a fob on the keys to open the gate to the car park, then walk back round to the entrance and let yourself in!

The location was excellent. Right near all of the attractions and the town Square. The apartment had everything we needed. Very clean. Fabulous hosts great communication.

We weren’t able to access any of the TV apps as they were locked. As we are English speaking, there was no TV for us to access.

Lovely place,very central location, parking was good. It was great to have 2 beds as I travelling with my 92 year old mother. The owners were quick to respond to any queries.
