Peaceful zen apartment with parking Kew London - Pass the Keys

A clean, well-equipped second-floor apartment with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Everything worked OK, fast wifi, and the flat's appearance is enhanced by some colourful rugs and kilims. In a good position for local shopping (a huge M&S food store within about 4 minutes' walk) and public transport - tube station 10 minutes' walk, bus stop 2 minutes. The block is in a small development off the main street with low traffic, and efficient double-glazing which (but only when all windows are shut tight) goes some way to muffle the constant noise of aircraft overhead (as is to be expected in this location). When we arrived an alarm was bleeping, but the landlord's agents Pass the Keys dealt with this problem promptly and efficiently. We have no idea idea what the description "peaceful zen apartment" is supposed to signify, but can recommend this flat for a good holiday.

No prior warning was given of the post-booking additional verification procedures, which I considered to be unnecessary and intrusive. I was required to provide personal and financial data to an unknown third party (Truvi), to sign a one-sided agreement full of onerous obligations on the part of the tenant but scarcely any on the part of the landlord, and to pay a charge for the verification process. This was unsatisfactory and rather spoiled my anticipation of an enjoyable break in the booked property. On arrival, finding the key box was difficult because the photo provided in advance does not correspond to the box's position. There are no fire extinguishers or blankets in evidence, and if there is a smoke detector present we couldn't see it. The old and lumpy pillows on the beds are a big let-down which could be remedied easily and cheaply. The description "peaceful Zen apartment" seems inappropriate. It's a lovely apartment and we enjoyed our stay, but there is nothing zen about it, and as with all residential properties in the area, any notion of peacefulness is obliterated by constant aircraft noise.
