Villas Susurro Del Mar

A beautiful, well-maintained property, and it is clear the family puts a lot of care into it. Beautiful landscaping, flowers, lighting, pool house. The pool with the slide was a big bonus for us, especially traveling with a toddler. The accommodation itself was comfortable The kitchen is well equipped, with some minor signs of wear. The property is very quiet, and we were the only guests during our stay, which we really appreciated. It would be perfect for a family outing booking multiple villas. Overall, we had a good stay and would recommend this place. The location is also convenient, with Sámara and Playa Carrillo close by. You can tell that this is a passion project.

It did have a musty smell upon arrival, likely from the house not being in use for a period of time. After airing the house out for a full day, the smell had mostly disappeared by the second night. Unfortunately we couldn’t use the AC since my husband is very sensitive to mold and it appeared to have a small amount inside the blower(the filter was clean). Otherwise the space was very clean, so we felt comfortable staying there . We would suggest airing the house out before guest arrivals in the future. This is common in Costa Rica with the humidity and likely a non issue for most guests who don't have a sensitivity. On both nights the neighboring dogs barked for a while, and one morning a neighbor started yard work pretty early near our window (6 amish). This is outside the host’s control, but you may want to bring earplugs. The host was very generous in making up for the disturbance and honestly the dogs barking seems to be common in many places in Costa Rica so this is just a reminder to have ear plugs if you're sensitive.
