Calm Cove One-Bedroom Home Glyfada

We stayed four comfortable nights in this Glyfada garden level apartment. Its location allowed easy quick access to mass transit bringing us everywhere from Plaka to Piraeus Port, Acropolis to the airport. We did not rent a car but if we did, there's free on-street parking everywhere in the neighborhood. We found excellent restaurants of every price point close by, but if we dipped into restaurant menu fatigue, two supermarkets within walking distance allowed us to make use of the home kitchen.

The kitchen was acceptable. An electric kettle and espresso machine is a good start, but no microwave?! instead a convection oven. Not as easy to reheat leftovers. No tin foil either meant messy pan clean up. Ugh. Also, bathing was cumbersome. Please note, there is only a hand shower, no bracket! We are not accustomed to the procedure of turning on the water to get wet. Turn off the water to lather. Turn on the water to rinse off. Repeat to shampoo your hair, etc. While there was plenty of hot water, the shower was a disappointment. Also, My husband was fine, but the bed was too hard for me. And lighting did not work in the Living room. Very gloomy in a lower level accommodation.

Excelente locación!! Cerca de todo. Pude siempre estacionar mi auto frente al edificio, bajo la sombra de unos olivares. El departamento es amplio y decorado con gusto

Excellent location, facility and host!

We found the apartment to be stylish, comfortable, exceptionally clean and with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The location was really good, with a wide range of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby. The beaches we liked best were a short bus ride away. The local transport system is excellent and cheap. Our host Andree was very kind and attentive. She gave us lots of good advice and recommendations for places to visit, restaurants etc and was particularly thoughtful, considerate and quick to respond to our queries.

We were slightly dismayed to discover that the nearest beach, Asteras, is now fenced off and has been developed into a private beach resort. You have to pay to enter if you want to use their facilities.
