Casa do Pico

The room was well-equipped (fridge, microwave, kettle, and dishes) and featured a nice balcony—we were sad the rain kept us from using it, but it’s a great addition. We appreciated the easy street parking right in front of the building. Being able to walk to a great local restaurant in just 8 minutes—and avoiding the need to drive into the city—was a huge plus. Would definitely recommend!

Hübsche, schlichte Unterkunft. Das Zimmer ist gut ausgestattet inklusive kleinem Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle und dem passenden Geschirr. Blick aufs Meer und den Sonnenuntergang.

Die Unterkunft ist ein Stückchen außerhalb und daher ist ein Auto zu empfehlen. Man kann theoretisch in den Ort laufen, allerdings läuft man den Großteil des Weges direkt an der Straße und zurück zur Unterkunft geht es recht steil bergauf.

Emplacement idéal pour explorer toute l'île en étant assuré d'avoir le meilleur climat (il pleuvait tous les jours au nord et au centre, il faisait beau dans le sud!). Au calme, la chambre avec lit une personne était équipée du nécessaire pour manger au micro-onde avec un petit frigo. Très belle vue sur l'océan, parking en bas de la maison sur la route (normal à Madère). Salle de bain partagée, je n'ai jamais eu à attendre. Tout est très propre. Hôte très sympathique et qui donne de bons conseils. A deux pas vous trouverez un bar typique vraiment pas cher pour savourer la poncha et à 5mn à pied il y a un excellent restaurant qui fait de déliieuses brochettes.

It was clean although a little sterile

Location - very poor - it is somewhere between a 35 minute and an hour's walk to town IF you can find a safe way of doing it i.e. there are no footpaths and Madeirans drive like crazy - therefore you have add on the costs fro taxis to get to and from it, etc. Furniture is starting to show its age. Felt that the person running the place was totally transactional, here's your room and that was it Some of the information that she provided was wrong e.g. the avilability of buses, etc.
