We were able to ride from the house to trailheads in Old Fort. It's less than a mile to Kitsuma and about a mile to Bernard mtn. Comfortable and roomy.

We were looking for a nice quiet place to relax, that wasn't too far from outdoor activities and interesting towns, but felt away from it all - and we hit the jackpot with this rental.
A lovely place in a beautiful setting, 5 minutes from Black Mountain and all the shops and restaurants you could ask for, 30 minutes from Asheville and everything on offer there, but cozy and set apart with plenty of wildlife and wilderness all around.
We really appreciated all the modern amenities and how comfortable the house was. Especially enjoyed the screened-in porch overlooking the back garden and woods, and the games room where we sent many fun evenings working through the numerous board games that have been thoughtfully provided.
Being able to bring our pet was also a huge plus, as we don't really travel without her anymore, and it isn't always easy to find places that will accommodate furry family members.
A final note: A big shout out to our local contact, Noelle Ewing, who did a wonderful job and was very welcoming, helpful and considerate. We really felt very taken care of and she offered great support and information during our stay.
