Communications were great (all important details provided in advance, too), place was very clean, location was nice and quiet, huge greens right in front for kids to play on in the evenings, ample parking, unit a stone's throw from the parking lot, equipment for cooking in particular was superb - full range of knives, pans, veg peeler, can opener, etc.

Situated about 0.8 of a mile from Yarmouth, its an easy 15 minute walk into the small town and harbour. Fort Victoria is about the same distance, and all the West Wight footpaths are within easy reach. The number 7 bus runs every half hour between Alum Bay and Newport if you wish to go further afield. The Bungalow itself was excellent with a decent kitchen including a dishwasher, microwave and oven and hob. The bathroom was excellent and both bedrooms (one a double, the other a twin) were great. The bungalow is part of a gated complex with a mixture of bungalows, houses and terraced accommodation. There were other people there whilst we were there, but it was pretty quiet generally. The gardens and surrounds are well tended and very pleasing on the eye.

Only minor quibbles really. We had cycled over from the mainland and there was not many places to secure our cycles once on the compound. We did find some cycle racks but they were a long way from our accommodation so didn't use them. We tied them up to a tree round the back of the property. The other drawback was the lack of a pavement outside the complex, you had to cross the road, which was quite busy during the day and on somewhat of a corner, so you had to be pretty careful when you left. I would imagine car drivers would find it a slight challenge exiting too

The location is great, we have stayed at West Bay on many occasion due to the wonderful location..we love it.

The door in the second bedroom wouldn’t open. The cupboards and main areas not clean..very sticky. Very disappointing Bed mattress needs replacing. Heavy bed frame(needs replacing)...not easy to make the bed without catching fingers down the side of the bed frame. Sometimes sitting on the settee/bed - you could smell dry urine smell..not pleasant. Old/worn out - TV remote not very responsive. Needs a washing /dryer machine. Bath room not clean. Shower control not working very well. Window latch in bathroom needs to be replaced door in main bedroom stiff Whole property needs a paint
