It’s exactly what you expect for the price. Much better than a hostel in my opinion. You stay in the families home and share kitchen and bathroom but you have your own room. Comfortable bed, good shower. They leave you a shelf in the fridge, the kitchen has all the facilities you need. I never had to lineup for the shower or toilet. The lovely family mostly keeps to themselves unless you engage in a conversation. Close 5min walk to bus station.

2nd stay here , location is handy for the CBD (25 min walk , or bus stop 5 mins walk and 5 mins bus) Room was clean a tidy. Owners are very welcoming friendly and hospitable
The fact that this is a room in a family house is not for everyone , I had no problems and would stop here again when in Christchurch.
