Small cozy ranch

This affordable, pleasant and friendly (for pets and people!) accommodation proved ideal for my husband and me and our two cats, as we had to take one for diagnostic consultation at the university vet clinic in nearby Urbana. (We'd have preferred to stay closer in, but found the ca. 25 min. drive acceptable for the considerable savings it represented.) The house is located in a quiet neighborhood that is conveniently near a grocery store. Overall we found it well-furnished--and we especially appreciated the gas fireplace and the many lap throws on the sofas: altogether it proved very cozy for both us and our pets during the chilly early spring. We also appreciated the large kitchen and the washer-dryer, with supplies provided, and the ample number of towels. There's a large smart tv that offers many streaming options with one's own accounts. Also really excellent: the communications with host Karen were very prompt and helpful.

The sliding door to the main bedroom (with the large bed) was stuck open, so we could not close it at night. We'd have liked to do so to keep the cats out of there and also for quiet and dark for the "early to bed" spouse while the other watched the television in the immediately adjacent room. We found the ceiling and wall lighting in the living room a little too dim to read (so shifted a lamp from another room temporarily). A slightly greater inconvenience was that there were only a couple of forks--some seem to have "walked off" previously?? But those are minor issues that did not reduce the overall quality and homey feeling for our ultimately 4-night stay..
