Welcome to Hare of the Dog! This beautiful, updated, one-bedroom, one-bath condo is located in the Town Center of Lost Rabbit, across from the marina. It overlooks the Ross Barnett Reservoir and sleeps 4.
This condo was originally a commercial office space and still features some of its industrial charm, including exposed pipes and high ceilings. With that, you may occasionally hear water running through the plumbing—either from this unit or from neighboring units above. It’s completely normal for the building and part of what gives the space its unique, urban loft feel!
Located on the ground floor, parking and entry are very convenient.
Fishing. Boating. Hiking. Biking. Walking. Running. Relaxing. You can do it all here!
The Town Center currently has a General Store, Spa, and The Rabbit Hole.

✔︎ The 2 French Doors in the living room are not entry/exit doors. If you must open them in an emergency, pull up on the handle, and then unlock or lock. You must keep the handle help up, while locking or unlocking.
✔︎ Established quiet hours, unless otherwise stated, are 8 PM - 8 AM
✔︎ A $500 hold will be placed on your account as a security deposit. If no damages occur, the hold will be released, and the funds will be refunded 7 days after checkout.
✔︎ Do not open French doors unless you have an emergency.
✔︎ This is a quiet residential community. Please respect everyone`s quiet time and privacy.
✔︎ The pool and rooftop terrace are for condo owners only. Guests are NOT allowed. There will be a $500 fine if rule is broken. This is an HOA policy.

✔︎ There are alligators in the reservoir. Please be cautious and safe.

✔︎ There are two fire alarms, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. They are for emergencies only.

This property at Lost Rabbit is unique and has a relaxing atmosphere. The unit is well-equipped with comfortable bedding, thoughtful sound machines, and reliable air conditioning. It's within walking distance of the water, a restaurant, and a general store, with adorable views of local wildlife.I do have concerns with transparency of the listing. I specifically filtered for properties that allow parties and events, as I planned a birthday gathering. I disclosed this in my booking, but after confirming my reservation, the hosts informed me of a strict 4-person occupancy limit at all times. The listing didn’t mention or disclose event guest limits or event restriction types like other Vrbos that allow events do, and I had been upfront about my plans. There was confusion about the refund process. Bryan said I could get a 50% (minus the service fee) refund, but Heather replied at the same time and said it would be full. The listing still hasn’t been updated to reflect event restrictions or event guest limits even after the confusion was explained. You cannot host a party above 4 people here.There were minor issues during our stay, like a deadbolted front door at check-in that Bryan promptly resolved. The unit only had one hand towel for our 9-night stay, and not enough trash bags for check-out which the host was indifferent towards.The property is beautiful and relaxing with responsive hosts. A little more transparency and thoughtfulness would improve the experience.

The owners responded instantaneously to any inquiries and checked in throughout the stay. Will be staying again this week. The rental was extremely clean and very well apportioned. Excellent experience.
