Church View a Tranquil Space for Two - Pass the Keys

Room was modern, clean (I could've found dust with my 'hotel inspector' white gloves if I was so inclined) and the bed was comfortable.

Tranquil Space for Two? That was the title of the property. It didn't mention it was a room above a busy pub. It wasn't tranquil as the noise from the pub was clearly heard in the room, and the smells/sounds from the kitchen didn't lend to being 'tranquil'. The address was 'Church View'... the window blind didn't work, but having a quick peep behind it, the room should've been called 'Flat Roof and Housing Estate View'. If I'd been looking for a tranquil room for to, I would've been very disappointed. As I was a lone traveller, the room was fine. However, what did irk me more than the actual room, was having to pay a third party (Truvi) an admin fee! They wanted £40, non-refundable 'insurance waiver', or the alternative was to pay £500 up front with them refunding £490 if I manged to stay in the room without wrecking it. If I'd known this when looking for a room, I would've chosen one of the many alternatives for less money, which included breakfast.

Modern and stylish decor. The air con was great during a warm spell. Convenient location above the pub and such friendly people who couldn't do enough for us.

Zero toiletries except toilet paper, hand soap wasn’t even refilled, had to pay damage deposit in advance and the bathroom was already damaged as it was. Lacked a personal touch as boiling hot day, no AC turned on for arrival, window open, even a bottle of water in big fridge, again no toiletries and tea and coffee supplies just thrown together on the side.
