Countryside Retreat Dingle

The house is nice and has great potential. The hosts were more than helpful and very nice to deal with.

The house could have been cleaned better. Certain parts of the house and the windows in particular need attention in my opinion. There was no bath so the description was misleading. It said bath or shower. The shower was extremely noisy. Dingle town is not really within walking distance so had to drive.

Perfect stay for a family getaway 5 mins drive outside Dingle. Very comfortable bedding, plenty fresh towels, and basics such as toilet roll, soap, and dish washing liquid and sponge provided. Would happily stay again.

The location is great. The house sits on a quiet road partway up a mountain and within a 7-8-minute drive of Dingle. Parking was private and the house has a lot of potential. The host was communicative and accommodating as well.

Sadly, there were a lot of things. The art on the wall, particularly in the dining room, was not family friendly, nor were the books on the shelves. Thankfully, my daughter didn’t ask questions. The rooms are decorated in a way that evokes unease. The furniture was super uncomfortable and not at all picked with comfort in mind. The TV didn’t work and there was no cabling for the dvd player or vcr to be used. One cabinet was full of trash. The fridge froze our drinks and was pretty gross as well. The thresholds upstairs were screwed to nothing and could be flipped over with screws sticking out of them. The big bed in one room was broken, and one of them had an inordinate amount of dirt/dust under it. There were nightstand lamps that either didn’t have a bulb in them or were not plugged in or even near an outlet. The place gave off vibes of amateur renovation, even more amateur decorating, and presented some safety concerns with the floors as well. There is no attention to detail with this place, and it’s not a place I would ever bring my family to again, which is sad because the location is great and the potential was there for this to be a great place. It needs a serious overhaul, however, and a woman’s touch and attention to detail, and this is coming from a man.
