WECO STAY Myeongdong

the overall experiece was pretty nice. the check in process was very clear. the luggage storage room was also very spacious and quite easy to access. the location was wonderful, not so far walking distance from both green line and dark blue line and there are tons of buses that go to myeongdong for shopping.

the only part that i didn't enjoy was the part you need to take out the trash by yourself and do all the recycling. it wasn't that connivence if you are lazy like me.

We actually enjoyed our stay, we were worried the rook would be too small, but it surprised me. Had a washing/drying machine and a nice restaurant downtime. Only thing is that it sometimes takes a while for the elevator to pick you up so if you have an appointment maybe leave a couple minutes early

We booked another separate room for family members that are mostly seniors. The place is generally accessible, with elevators available and the rooms are clean and spacious enough to move around. The quadruple room has a nice layout. A tinted glas sliding door separates the bedroom area from the kitchen/dining area for added privacy. The beds were comfortable for restful nights, and the bathroom came with a bathtub (double rooms only have showers). There's plenty of storage as well. Beside the bathroom is a walk-in closet where we could put all our personal items, including the luggage themselves, to free up space in the kitchen/dining area. Having a kitchenette and a washing machine was also a great plus. The kitchen was equipped with utensils, plates/bowls, knives, cooking pans/tools, etc. which is greate for making simple, breakfast meals. Washing machine was easy to operate and worked great--even without using the dryer function, laundry came out only slightly damp so they dried out quickly in a few hours. WECO Stay is an aparthotel, so we expected that some common hotel services are not available such as daily housekeeping, staffed lobby, and breakfast. But at only KRW1.4m for 5 nights, this was really a great value for money. I'd say that the quadruple room is best for families with kids, rather than all four adults sharing the same room, but for our needs, it was good enough for a week-long stay in Seoul.

As pointed out in my other comment, there are no cleaning tools available. With a group of four sharing the same room, dirt can easily build up, so it would have been nice to have the option to clean the room ourselves. The bathroom door automatically locks so you cannot close it when the bathroom is not in use (otherwise no one can enter at all). Also, the quadruple room listing on Booking.com shows the maximum guests to be only three. Upon confirmation with the staff, up to four guests can stay (without increase in the rate), so take that into consideration. Lastly, it's not within Myeongdong, contrary to its name.

The bed was fine and the facilities in the room good. Although the location doesn't look great, it's safe and convenient. The staff were helpful when we had a problem with the boiler.

We stayed for 8 nights and there was no cleaning done in the room. I wouldn't mind that if you were left cleaning products to clean it but there were none. It got incredibly dusty after a few days and I had to buy extra toilet paper and wash all the towels myself.
