Casa Oliva

Stayed at Casa Oliva in Roma Norte for a few nights on my own and really enjoyed it. The building dates back to 1939 and they've restored it well — you can tell they kept the original character instead of stripping it out for something generic. My room was called Fresno and had that same mix going on: high ceilings, original-feel windows and details, but a comfortable modern setup underneath, proper bed, AC, nothing felt like style over substance. The best part for me was the central patio. There are trees growing up through the middle of the building and it's surprisingly quiet considering how close you are to everything happening on Orizaba and Álvaro Obregón. I ended up having coffee out there most mornings before heading out for the day. There's also a small gym and a rooftop terrace if you want a quiet spot to work or just sit outside in the evening. Location is hard to beat — Puebla 74, right in the middle of Roma Norte, so cafés, galleries, and good food are all within walking distance.

Cute hotel in Roma Norte. Great location, spacious rooms, nice building design and 24/7 concierge. It’s more of a self-service hotel but we didn’t mind as we wanted to explore CDMX as much as we could.

The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Sometimes it was a bit noisy.

There was no breakfast, and there was no room cleaning service. There was rationing of things like toilet paper and cleanex.

The second bedroom had a very small bed - too small to call a second bedroom.
