Birkdale hidden gem

Loved the location, was close to birkdale centre, was a cosy little apartment, had everything you needed and was lovely and clean. Would definitely stop again.

Would advise a curtain being put up at the side door, as the light shines through early morning.

Quirky, cute and snug

A cute little apartment that looks like it may once have been a garage and it’s impressive how the owners have transformed such a small space into a quirky, self-contained home. It’s beautifully presented, exceptionally clean and tidy. I stayed here with my partner and it was very snug and cosy, perfect for a 2-night stay. There was a handy pamphlet explaining everything we needed to know, plus recommendations for places to eat, drink and explore. Tea, coffee and towels were all well stocked, which was a lovely touch. The bed was soft and comfortable, so dreamy that we slept brilliantly. It was absolutely freezing when we first arrived (expected for December!) but the plug-in heaters warmed the place up quickly. The shower entrance is quite small, good job we’re not overweight, haha! A tiny wash basin in the bathroom would be a useful addition and would still suit the quirky style. Parking was limited and we had to hunt around for a bit but we eventually found a spot — added to the adventure, hehe! Overall, we were really happy with our stay and would definitely return.

No wash basin in the bathroom so had to use the kitchen sink. No cigarette bin outside, would be useful as partner smokes. Great stay though!

Did not stay here due to incorrect advertising.

Did not stay, no on site parking available as advertised.

My husband is on palliative care for cancer and needed the on site parking that was advertised on Booking.com. The host had an ongoing problem with a neighbour regarding guests parking and therefore should not have advertised on site parking. We couldn’t stay because of this, so left the same day. The host was very adamant we move on to the road immediately and was very abrupt and unhelpful, answering his door to us in his dressing gown. There is very little on road parking due to driveways all down the street. There are cameras viewing the access to the site. We asked for a refund but both the host and Booking.com were not helpful or understanding, considering they had advertised this stay incorrectly. If you need to park locally at this location please be aware there is no onsite parking.

Lovely but inaccessible for anyone even slightly larger than average

The amount of kitchen equipment provided was generous and would have been perfect for a short self-catering break, place was cozy, clean and well supplied with towels, toiletries and cleaning products, TV with on-demand services and a comfy sofa.

As a larger man (180cm, 150kg), I found the bed a little small and cramped and the mattress too soft such that I sank into it and couldn't sleep comfortably. The damning thing that completely ruined the stay was that the entrance to the shower was through a bizarrely small gap only just over 30cm, which my partner could barely squeeze through and which completely barred me from being able to enter. We were also disturbed by workmen doing construction on the host's property who started at 8am sharp while we were still sleeping. Note that the shower did not have an extractor fan, only an instruction to leave the window open, which my partner did not feel comfortable doing due to aforementioned workmen walking back and forth directly in front of it. The two minimum requirements I have for a night's stay anywhere are that I can sleep in a bed and take a shower and this is the first time a place has failed that check, hence the low score for an otherwise perfectly fine place.

Excellent attention to small details. There was everything you could possibly require. Comfortable and clean. The hosts gave up their personal parking space so that I could park my car, this was a great gesture and much appreciated.

Personality didn't like the kitchen sink being the only sink plus even the slimmest of us found getting into the shower a bit awkward. If you had a fat client, they'd be stuck.

Well located & convenient

Everything, nothing to fault as it suited our purpose for a 1 night stopover. The booking was easy, instructions were easy to understand. The property was very clean & well stocked with essentials. It was only a 5 mins car/bus journey or 15 min walk to town centre. I would recommend a stay here & will probably book again when in the area. Thanks to Dave & Sami

Really is Birkdale's Hidden Gem

Modern, tastefully decorated and great for a couple. It was nice and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and great location. Nice area. Great communication and convenient access.

The only slight & minor thing would be a vanity sink in the bathroom and a door curtain but this is just a suggestion and we would definitely go again.

Cosy stop over!

Beautifully clean and well presented. Had everything you needed. Quiet and private and parking was available. Tea and coffee supplied which was nice. Good value for money.

Nothing I didn’t like but was quite cold although plug in heaters soon warned it up. Small space to get into shower and no bathroom sink.

Beautiful - Minor improvement needed

Lovely place to stay within Birkdale. Definitely needed black out curtains by the bed for when you sleep to not only keep the draft out from the windows but to give you some privacy when getting changed and keep the light out of the morning. It was beautiful inside and very clean. Would recommend highly!

Very clean and well equipped and a 5 minute stroll to Birkdale Centre.

The shower has a glass panel that if you are a large lady like me it’s difficult to squeeze through it I get into the shower. The room was cold and the heating wasn’t on . No instructions on to how to turn the heating on.
