Disappointing Stay – Misleading Listing and Poor Conditions

The view of balcony was great, kitchen was fully equipped.

First, the smell of cow manure around the house was overwhelming and persistent throughout the stay. Inside, the house had no air conditioning, and many of the window screens were either missing or broken, making it impossible to ventilate properly without letting in countless flies and moths. There were no supplies provided to deal with the insects either. Sleeping at night was a real challenge due to high indoor temperatures, bugs, and constant noise from cars passing on the nearby road—the house is right beside it. The listing contained several misleading claims. There is no private parking; instead, you’re expected to park across a busy road in a restaurant parking lot. Despite advertising a “well-equipped” home, it came with only one roll of toilet paper for six people over three nights, no tissues or paper towels, and the host told us to buy more if needed. No shampoo, conditioner, or body wash were provided. There were only two dishwasher pods, no laundry detergent, no oil or spices for cooking, and only four coffee pods—again, for six people for three days. No drip coffee maker either. The barbecue on the balcony costs extra to use, which wasn’t clearly mentioned. And when the listing says “breakfast is available”, they mean for an additional 25 CHF per person—again, not made clear upfront. Overall, this stay was uncomfortable and far below the standard we expect from Airbnb. We hope this review helps others make a more informed decision.
