The hosts are amazing, so communicative, always polite and quick to answer no matter how many questions I had. The church is definitely charming, and the outside space in the back is really lovely.

So, because I loved these hosts I really hesitate to complain about anything, but at the same time I think people need to have an honest review so they can make an informed decision before staying here. I can only speak for the bottom half of the property, which is two bedrooms. Basically the place was renovated maybe 30 years ago? I can only guess at that, but the kitchen and bath could use an update. They are clearly clean but so old that the white shower is stained yellow, for example. Cleaners don’t open the fridge, I assume, because we needed to use it and there were old spills inside, which was not appealing. The location is scenic, but it’s right on the only highway connecting Perth to Smiths Falls, so there is a lot of semi traffic right outside. It’s not quiet. Finally, this is not really a negative but renters should know that the hosts claim this space will sleep 6– I disagree. There are three beds, but the third is a futon in an alcove off the living area. My daughter was in there alone so it was okay, but you could never put 2 adults on it. I would not even try to fit two small children there, to be honest. And it’s not a separate room, so privacy is only provided by a set of vertical blinds. If anyone wants to go out to the back patio, they have to go through this space, so that’s important to know. Basically I got the impression that the upstairs of this property is a lot nicer than the downstairs, where we were. I wouldn’t really recommend it. But not a single review had anything bad to say, so I’m just leaving this to try to help others when they’re planning. Maybe most people reviewing were staying upstairs.
