About this house rental
Beds -N- Sheds owners Joe and Karen Vander Laan created their business to share their love of the Iowa Great Lakes area with others.
"We wanted to offer a place where people could come and relax, rest and restore - and also to have fun enjoying the amenities of the Lakes area... We want others to come and enjoy the lakes like we do."
Joe grew up camping in Okoboji and couldn't get moved to the area fast enough. He studied business administration at Iowa Lakes in Estherville and has been building homes for 30 years in the Okoboji region.
Karen grew up in Minnesota and visited the Lakes area as a kid with her family. She is retired after 27 years selling real estate.
Joe and Karen met 30 years ago and made their home in the Spirit Lake area. They have 2 children and look forward to spending their retirement years doing God's work and sharing their love of the Lakes with others through this business.

Stay was great, when I booked it had said pets were allowed, but then it had changed to service animals. Owner was nice to let us keep our mini Snauzer there with us!! Highly recommend

We stayed 2 nights and were very pleased with the rental unit. My only concern was the residence to the west allowed 3 dogs to run loose. I had my 4 month puppy with me and the dogs made me nervous. They weren’t aggressive, just a bit too curious

This property was perfect for our stay! We loved coming back from a busy fun day in town and staying in Ross and Karen's Beds and Sheds property! Don't let the name fool you!! Definitely not a shed and so much more then a bed !!! I would say more like a beautifully designed studio apartment with all the comforts of home provided.Even the bedding was soft and cozy! The owners were wonderful. They responded quickly if you needed anything! The location was serene and beautiful!
