The location 100%!!! We drove to Tropea but then we were able to park the car by the apartment and not worry about navigating the tiny one way streets!! Everything was in walking distance.

Main reasons:
Location: It claims to be beachfront, but it is not. Although you can see the beach from the balcony, to actually get to it you have to walk down (and then back up) the steep stairs of central Tropea.
Zero accessibility: Nowhere does it mention that the apartment is on the 4th floor with no elevator. I traveled with an 86-year-old person and it was very difficult. I absolutely do not recommend it for elderly people or anyone with reduced mobility.
Water issues: The shower works fine, but in the kitchen and the bathroom sink, the cold water pressure is insufficient, meaning only boiling hot water comes out.
