Shandon tipi off grid camping, nc500

You feel completely immersed in nature and away from everyday life. The tipi was spacious and cozy, and the bed was comfortable. Cooking facilities, toilet and shower were all well organized and functional. The hosts were kind and helpful. A perfect spot for anyone looking for something authentic instead of a standard hotel.

Just keep in mind it’s off-grid glamping, so don’t expect hotel-level comforts, it’s part of the charm.

Amazing location, very good for seeing the highlands and near Isle of Skye. Owners super friendly and helped with luggage.

Nothing not to like - great Tipi experience

We stayed for one night at the Shandon Tipi while doing the NC500 on our motorbike and honestly couldn’t have asked for more. We arrived absolutely soaking after riding through the rain, and the hosts couldn’t have been kinder or more welcoming. They even offered to dry all of our wet clothes overnight so we could set off warm and dry the next morning, which meant so much to us! The tipi and facilities were so cute, cosy and rustic, with everything we needed for an off-grid stay. Such a unique little place and exactly the kind of experience we wanted as part of our NC500 trip. A lovely stay made even better by genuinely lovely, thoughtful hosts. We’d absolutely recommend it to anyone travelling the NC500!

Manque d’équipements (pas de table pour manger à l’intérieur en cas de pluie par ex…), alimentation électrique solaire insuffisante (plus d’alimentation à 20h: les hôtes ont dû nous prêter une lampe…)
