The position of the lodge. The bright sunny interior. The space. Views from the windows. The deck area with table, chairs, parasol etc. The furnishings. The decor. Plenty of bed linens and pillows. Towels provided. Two bathrooms. All kitchen white goods. The kitchen. The welcome goods and extras. The books, DVD's etc. Cleaning products. Sitting on the deck. The peace. Nature. Nice neighbours. It's safe up there. TV's in lounge and bedrooms. Space. The China Garden deliver nice food. Sainsbury's delivers. The side garden and washing line. Being free. Three electric fans. The views to Ashey Beacon, and sun rise and setting. The moon above. The shooting star we saw. The breeze rustling the leaves of the lovely trees and bushes. The place is good for ones wellbeing. Wall to wall sun was a bonus of course.
The excessive heat made the lodge feel like an oven. It needs a good quality portable air conditioning unit that copes with the size of the place. The very bumpy dippy gritty drive to the lodge. You need a car. There is no way, if elderly, of walking off site and to any shop or place. The road out of the site is bendy and dangerous. Walking along it would not be safe. A very small shop on site solely for the residents that provides some basics I.e. bread, fruit, bottled water etc. would be helpful. The signage to the upper North field could be improved. Taxis took wrong turns as did family members visiting. There were blinds missing in the twin bedroom and the kitchen window. Justine kindly bought a net for the bedroom for privacy. The curtains kept the sun out. The sun is brutal and the kitchen window needs a blind. The little net isn't enough and you can see in when the lights are on at night. The mobile phone signal is poor and people cannot hear you on the phone unless you stand in one position between the front door and the kitchen area. Freeview pixilates quite a bit on several channels at times. It was expensive, but we had saved to be able to afford it. We hadn't had a holiday for three years. That said, many places were around the same price.

Lovely quiet location in a large country park 2 miles driving distance from Ryde . The lodge was well decorated, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. We were out most of the time and didn’t use most of the facilities. However this would’ve made a good base for a family given everything that was provided including games and books.. instructions sent beforehand to access key in key safe which was no problem. There was a very informative information folder provided.
As others have mentioned the mattresses on the single beds in the second bedroom were really soft and did not feel to be good quality. Had it not been for this I would’ve certainly marked the accommodation as excellent - but if you don’t have a comfortable night sleep it’s not great.. The temperature of the shower in the master bedroom was extremely difficult to control, veering from cold to boiling hot. ( to be fair we did not raise this with the accommodation so they didn’t have a chance to put this right). We did think the accommodation was very difficult to find in spite of the instructions sent beforehand. The country park is quite large and a map might have been useful or perhaps a what3words reference to the lodge itself
