西の家nishinoie小豆島

The house is enormous and the provided facilities are so thoughtful; everything you could possibly think of was included: first-aid kit, torch, camping lamp, a mini-oven, microwave, there were even sauces and condiments in the kitchen, along with a comprehensive collection of pots, pans, cutlery and other kitchen supplies. There was an entire wardrobe (!!) of tableware, with wine glasses, teapots, cups, everything. A washing machine/dryer was also provided. The bathroom was really spacious, with a large, deep bathtub. The pressure of the shower was really good and the provided shampoos and body soaps were also really good quality. The office was really comfortable to use, with a provided Dyson fan, great chair and a good view of the front garden. The toilet was just a standard Japanese toilet with all the functions you'd expect, but there was also a urinal (!!) and the washroom had really good provided ammenities, notably a Dyson hairdryer. There was a makeup mirror along with a normal mirror and a bunch of skincare products like a cleanser, moisturiser and toner. There are many comfortable futons, and the room with the TV had Netflix and Hulu and some Japanese programmes; it was also possible to watch TV from the adjacent room by tilting the TV. The rooms in the house also connect really nicely with each other. Finally, there was a Western-style tea room, right next to the entrance. There was an included Victorian-style tea set and a small card with a very brief history of Nishinoie. The location is basically exactly in the middle of the island, so you're always pretty close to all the attractions, which can be visited via buses which come fairly regularly. The owner is also really friendly and goes out of his way to greet you and send you off when you check in and check out. He gave us a souvenir of cookies from Shodoshima!

There were slugs in the bathroom; not really a fault of the property since it's the Japanese countryside and insects are to be expected. The light for the tea room was out of order when we stayed The location is slightly inconvenient during nighttime, since all the restaurants are closed and the nearest convenience stores are at least an hour walk. But, if you have any form of transport available it becomes a non-issue.

Magnifique maison japonaise. Très spacieuse et bien décorée. Cuisine très bien équipée. Très bel emplacement. Si vous êtes au moins 4 personnes, n'hésitez pas!

素晴らしいロケーションでした！ 朝陽を浴びながらの海岸の海岸散歩はとても良い思い出です。 夕食は徒歩１分で行ける地元の食材にこだわった「暦」さんがあることも良かった点です。

快適でしたので特にありません。
