Llofft Penwaig The Herring Loft

Very small but cute and just what I needed for my stay. Everything you could want.

The ladder was a bit steep.

A charming property in an excellent situation, really close to the beach and the North Wales Coastal path. It’s also across the road from the little Morrisons, the post box, the pub and the chippie. Everything in the Herring Loft is good quality, with extra touches such as throws, footstool, electric fireplace, coat hooks, pretty flowers, and welcome treats and milk. The electrics are modern, so you’ll find plenty of sockets with USB and USB-C points. There is a hairdryer tucked away in a drawer and the oven is a combi microwave and convection oven (so your mac n cheese is nice and golden!) I really appreciated the OS map and guide books - though far too windy to open a map outside! But a photo of my walking route for the day was super handy. Washing up liquid, cloth and sponge provided, also salt and pepper pots. And kitchen scissors - yay!! Lots of hot water and no problem with the heating, which could be adjusted to suit. Plenty of space in the shower room for your stuff and handy hooks on the door. I was happy to have the blackout blind in the skylight window. It’s a lovely cosy place to come back to after your adventures. I found it relaxing and peaceful- in spite of the nearness of the road.

The mezzanine bedroom is cute, but I did bang my head a couple of times before I figured out how to navigate the sloping roof. (I’m 5’8ish) (Tip: move the bed to the left so you can almost stand up on the right) I also came away with a bruise on my shin from miscalculating the ladder, which is quite steep. (Tip: don’t lean forward!) The bed seemed quite firm to me, but I got used to it after a couple of nights.
