ANEW Hotel & Convention Centre OR Tambo Johannesburg

I booked this stay for one person through Booking.com and was immediately assisted at reception. I was also asked whether I would be okay with my luggage. Fortunately, I only had an overnight bag, so I managed perfectly well on my own. The room was beautiful and felt more like a self-catering unit than a traditional hotel room. I was very impressed with the décor — everything was tastefully done. The bathroom was comfortable, and I have to mention the shower: what a powerful shower! I thoroughly enjoyed it. 🚿😊 One thing I did miss, however, was a convenient charging point for my cellphone. I searched the entire room and could only find three-point plugs. So, if you are planning to stay here, remember to bring an adapter if you need one for your phone. Luckily, I eventually realised that I could charge my phone using my laptop. It charged considerably slower, but hey — it worked! 😂 There were two bottles of water in the fridge, and this is where my little adventure began. I struggled to open them. The caps had the type of seal that you are supposed to pull off, but apparently I was stronger than the bottle expected — I managed to break the seal! 🙈 I called reception, and they kindly sent someone to help me. With a fork and me holding the bottle firmly, we eventually managed to get it open. I then thought, “Well, while you are here, let's open the second one too.” Of course, exactly the same thing happened — the seal broke again! 🙈😂 So, another round with the fork and we finally succeeded. My advice: pack a bottle opener! In fact, I have one on my keyring, but guess where it was? At home. Now it is safely tucked away in my handbag — reserved for a “SOS situation”! 😂 I also enjoyed lunch at the restaurant. I was quite surprised when my starter and main course arrived at the same time. Perhaps the waiters could be reminded that the starter comes first, followed by the main course — unless, of course, they were testing how hungry I was!

Maybe a bottle opener in the room as well as a two point plug.

The feeling that you far away from home , but even tho you not , the build was beautiful, the view was amazing even tho had a highway right there

The restaurant Ciello was very expensive and money wise not worth , the buffet for supper and maybe lunch time isn't worth the 400 rand they want you to pay , they breakfast was good , but was apart of the hotel package, I dont even want to know what they charge for breakfast buffet, they are to expensive
