This is a studio basement with an attached private bathroom. Please note that there is no separate entrance. Access is through the main door of the house, and you will pass through the common area, main floor living room, to reach the basement.

The entire house is smoke and pet free, well-maintained, sparkling clean, and very tidy. I have a protocol in place to keep things maintained and orderly. :)
Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed, first aid kit and a fire extinguisher are available.

The main floor (living room, kitchen and dining room), backyard and front porch are shared spaces. The second floor is off-limits.
If you're bringing a guest, we advise you to book for 2 persons, for liability reasons. Please know that our home insurance will not cover unregistered guests and we have a strict "only registered guests allowed" rule.
The entrance is through the main door using a keyless lock. There is also a door to the basement with a key lock for your privacy.
The shower stall height is 6 feet 4 inches.
There's a small window in the bathroom.
For your and our protection, like in hotel lobbies/corridors, a motion detection security camera installed in the main kitchen (common area) facing the main entrance and stairs to the second floor (which is off-limits to VRBO guests), and one installed facing outside the house, covering the front door and driveway.

It was my last four days in Ontario and I needed a peaceful place to stay before flying out west. Khalid’s place turned out to be the perfect spot. The neighbourhood is relatively quiet one. There is a small park to go for quick walks just down the street. The downstairs room itself is spacious itself, perfect for weary travelers who just want peace and quiet. All necessary requirements are available such as coffee and even milk or cream upon request. Khalid will help with many requests . The kitchen area is avail for those staying for longer periods, however should one need to use kitchen area in a pinch, Khalid will accommodate. He is friendly and approachable and wants your stay to be a home away from home. I highly recommend this place to stay.

Over all we were very impressed with the cleanliness and atmosphere of the basement suite . Khalid was an amazing communicator.
The only thing we did not like is that there was no window in the main sleeping and sitting area . Just a very small window in the bathroom.
