La Maison Romane is a beautifully restored blend of medieval and 19th-century architecture, tastefully decorated and elegant. The kitchen is equipped with excellent modern appliances, and a bright conservatory serves as a dining room, opening onto a quaint courtyard - perfect for meals outdoors in the sun.
The bedrooms are located upstairs, reached via a separate spiral staircase from the courtyard, and one has an en-suite bathroom. There's also a large, well-appointed desk, ideal for working comfortably during the stay.
The location is excellent: a large supermarket is just seven minutes’ walk away, while the gîte itself is in the charming town centre, with cafés, restaurants, a wine shop, boulangerie, and local butcher all just a few steps away. The lovely Romanesque church is close by, perfect for quiet evening strolls. A visit to nearby Mont Saint-Michel requires a car ride to the free bus shuttle (or a 40-minute walk from the car park drop-off point). Eduardo, the host, is welcoming and wonderfully responsive.
There was nothing to dislike; everything was thoughtfully arranged and comfortable.
