Desert Dream casita at Desert Color by Ember Stays

Excellent location, facilities and amenities, but the other renters staying in the property feel like they are in the same room with you. Everything about this property is an 11/10, but there is only a door between this rental and the other part of the house and you can hear everything from kids running and screaming to doors closing and full conversations. If you plan to sleep past 7am this is not the location for you. We were woke up bright and early every morning by the kids staying in the rental upstairs. They would also frequently try to open the door between the two rentals and also spent time on the balcony porch outside the entrance to this rental making privacy almost non-existent.

The welcome gift was a very nice touch. The property was very clean. The proximity to the Desert Color main pool and Lagoon was excellent...a one minute walk away.

The exterior images of the rental are misleading at best. Those front entry/facing pictures are not what is being delivered. There are no images that show the true entrance to the unit being a second floor, stair access entry, from the rear. Not noted in the listing is that this unit is a "lock-off" which is enveloped within a larger unit. There is nothing in the Booking.com listing that notes that the unit is entirely on the second floor and that there would be guest above and below. If I could post a picture in the review, I would have. Based on the description and particularly, the images, it seemed as though "the entire place is yours" was that the entry was on the ground level as depicted and that the kitchen/living room was on the 2nd level and the bedroom/bathroom was on the third level. Again, the overall issue is that the listing does not disclose that this is a shared unit. It indicates "The entire place is yours". Based on the photos provided as well as the written description, it is implied that it is a multi-level 1-bedroom unit. The listing does not disclose guests above and below. We were woken up early by the creaking floors and footsteps, this during an anniversary week in which we planned to sleep in every day. It's not that the adjoining occupants are being noisy. The unit is just poorly constructed...Creaking floors and pounding steps. Again, the overall issue is that the listing does not disclose that this is a shared unit. We didn't have the managers reach out to the other occupants as they weren't being a nuisance. There isn't anything they can do to reduce noise. I requested to be relocated the night of check-in. We did not receive a call until nearly 48 hours later. If you value your sleep and quiet, I suggest booking a different rental. Other items of note: There was no blow-dryer. We requested it; were told it would be provided; never showed up.
