About this house rental
Welcome to your perfect retreat just 2 miles from the charming village of Skaneateles! Known affectionately as "The Cattails" our delightful 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom bungalow offers a serene escape with modern comforts and rustic charm. Nestled on over an acre of beautiful land, this home provides ample space for relaxation and enjoyment.
Step inside to discover a cozy yet spacious interior. The media room is perfect for movie nights or playing games, while the large deck invites you to unwind with a morning coffee or evening glass of wine, all while soaking in the tranquil surroundings. Or relax around our newly added fire pit area.
Each bedroom is thoughtfully decorated to ensure a restful night's sleep (including split system AC/Heating in all bedrooms), and the bathrooms are equipped with all the essentials for your convenience.
The King bedroom has its own private bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, and its own deck for a quiet cup of coffee in the morning.
The Queen Bunk room has a Queen bed and a twin sized bunk bed.
The Queen room has a Queen bed, direct access to the shared bathroom and access to the front porch.
The Loft Bedroom is a retreat of its own with Queen bed and reading area. Please note, access to the Loft Bedroom is via a short but relatively steep ladder stair, it is NOT recommended for people with mobility issues OR children (for safety reasons).
The primary living room has a twin sized pullout sofa bed.
The fully equipped chef’s kitchen makes meal preparation a breeze, whether you’re cooking a family feast or enjoying a quick snack.
Outdoors, the property with it’s boutique little orchard, creek, and the surrounding cattails create a picturesque setting for a leisurely stroll, a relax in the hammock, a playful afternoon with the kids or an evening by the fire pit. There are a couple of kids bikes (located in the basement) available for use by guests. Please note, helmets are not provided and guests use these bikes at their own risk.
The proximity to Skaneateles village means you can easily explore the local shops, dine at gourmet restaurants, or enjoy the scenic beauty of crystal clear Skaneateles Lake which is consistently ranked in the cleanest lakes in the US.
If adventure calls, hire a boat or kayak, or take a drive (or book a guided tour) on one of the many famous wine trails in the region.
In December Skaneateles village transforms into a Dickens wonderland on weekends with characters from A Christmas Carol wandering the village, caroling and activities for the kids. In short an already a gorgeous town turns even more adorable, if you're looking for a Hallmark Holiday experience, we recommend checking it out.

What an amazing, cozy home. Exactly what we were looking for while visiting Skaneateles and visiting our son at Syracuse University. House was very clean and loved the open window room layout in the kitchen and family room. Beds were very comfortable. Location was perfect. Owner was a pleasure to deal with. Hope to be back soon.

The house was perfectly appointed. There are two small refrigerators in the kitchen and a large refrigerator and freezer on the bottom floor, which worked out great. Plenty of storage for all our food. The master bedroom is very large and comfortable. There is a large walk in closet and a nice bathroom attached. The other two bedrooms are also big and spacious with plenty of room. The bathroom attached to one of the bedrooms, was nice in that there is a door between the toilet/shower area and the sinks. The beds in all the bedrooms were very comfortable.The large living area with the sectional sofa was also comfortable. We did not use the dining room, but was large enough for an entire family. We also did not use the loft bedroom, but if you had small children, it would be fun for them to climb up and down the ladder to the loft area. There is also a media room which would be great for watching movies. The house sits all by itself with lots of privacy all around. Perfect back deck for sitting and reading or just lounging and relaxing. Way out back is a nice area with a fire pit for those cool nights to sit around a fire and enjoy the quiet of this lovely home. Next time we go back to Skaneateles, we will definitely rent this home again. You can’t go wrong
