Good value but the whole house could do with a thorough deep clean and a review of condition of fixing and fixtures plus updating. It would also be good to ensure there are suitable kitchen pans and tools as would be expected for a house that houses 10 occupants. As well as a deep clean, it would be nice that someone ensured all cutlery and plates were in a clean state prior to being occupied as we had to wash everything before use. Despite this we had an excellent short stay.

The Coach House is a perfect cottage for a family group sat in beautiful countryside and handy to reach all the coastal resorts we love. Our party had 7 adults and two children and there was plenty of space and facilities for us all. The cottage was clean and tidy when we arrived. Three of the bedrooms can be set up as singles or the beds can be put together - one bedroom has to be accessed through another with its own bathroom (there’s three bathrooms plus a toilet downstairs) which worked well for the children and their parents. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Louisa and the staff at Oyster cottages are always available and quick to help with any issues and Louisa was also great at giving us local tips - thank you.

We stayed here as a large family group and had a great time. The house is very quiet and in a beautiful rural setting with a lovely garden and lovely surroundings including the estate lake and lots of farmland. The house is spacious, especially the bedrooms with the upstairs being bigger than the downstairs space. There is plenty of parking.

We liked the cottage as a whole, nice character features and setting. The bedding was nice and clean/crisp too. However, we were very disappointed by the level of cleanliness… the carpet was covered in dog hair, even upstairs where dogs aren’t meant to go, we had small babies crawling around. I have a dog myself (we didn’t bring her), so I am no stranger to dog hair, but when people are supposed to be paying extra to take their dog, to cover the extra cleaning, then I would expect it to be cleaner than it was. The bath had black bits in it, so again not the standard I would expect. The highchair was really dirty too. I tried to hoover the place myself, however the hoover bag was full and was really smelly when I turned the hoover on. In addition, the main big bin outside was covered with maggots when you opened it. We did mention this whilst we were there, we were advised the cleaners would come again on the Saturday, however when we returned there was just a fly spray on the side, nothing else had been done. The owner (?) said he had come to have a look and couldn’t see anything wrong. Just a side note too, we went on a really hot weekend, with the bedrooms up in the eaves, the upstairs was really hot, 29 degrees when we put the children to bed. We opened all the windows and external door, but that wasn’t enough. It would have been nice to have been provided with a couple of fans, we bought our own for the second night. I hope this review is helpful.

Vrbo advertising this property with a ground floor bedroom. This was not the case. My elderly father with mobility issues is unable to go up the stairs, hence why we booked this property. Thank goodness for the property owners and Aleia from Oyster, who managed to secure an additional property for my father to stay in. Our annual family holiday would have been ruined without their amazing customer service. Very disappointed with vrbo as by advertising this property incorrectly caused a great deal of stress to my family.

Location beautiful; cottage very poor. Numerous issues but Oyster Holiday cottages tried hard to sort out. Aleia was brilliant- always available on the phone and quick to respond to emails. I could not recommend this particular cottage but would recommend Oyster , I would book a different cottage with them, being confident that ultimately there is redress for any issues
