The summit of the Knöpflesbrunnen lies between Muggenbrunn, Todtnau, Utzenfeld, and Wieden in the southern Black Forest. Just below it, at an elevation of 1,100 meters, you’ll find the alpine inn of the same name, surrounded by vast pastures with a view down into the Wiesental valley and, on a clear day, all the way to the peaks of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau in the Bernese Alps.
A sunny terrace and a cozy dining room, along with delicious alpine cuisine and homemade cakes, invite you to linger and enjoy this beautiful landscape during a hike or bike ride.
The alpine inn is accessible from various starting points (Notschrei, Muggenbrunn, Aftersteg, Todtnau, Utzenfeld, Wieden & Schauinsland) on foot or by bike; depending on your preferences, fitness level, and stamina, the routes range from easy to challenging.
You can reach the respective starting points of your tour via public transportation on the Todtnau–Kirchzarten line and the Feldbergbus, which runs between Titisee and Schopfheim. By car, we are only accessible via Königshütte (located between Wieden and Utzenfeld). A forest trail branches off from the road in Königshütte and leads you uphill to us for about 4 km. Please note that GPS devices often suggest routes via closed forest trails; please use only the official access road via Königshütte.
You’re also welcome to spend the night up here with us. We have several rooms available, including double and shared rooms, each with a private bathroom (shower and toilet). A shared refrigerator and an electric kettle are available.
You can book your overnight stay with us, including breakfast. À la carte dinner is available.
