Region: Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
Town: Dolton is a small rural village in the heart of Devon's rolling countryside and offers a small selection of shops and pubs, making it the ideal place to stock up on any store cupboard essentials and maybe stop off for a refreshing pint or a bite to eat in a traditional English pub while you are here. Winding lanes, high hedgerows and a gentler pace of life characterise the area. The open tors of Dartmoor are a big attraction for nature lovers and walkers, while the hills of Exmoor and the surfing beaches are all a short but scenic drive away. Historic Torrington, home to RHS Rosemoor and an arts centre is within easy reach, whilst the cathedral city of Exeter with its Roman city walls, shopping centre, theatre and restaurants, makes a great day out. Other towns worth a visit include Barnstaple, Copplestone and Okehampton. For a slice of rural England in the heart of idyllic Devon, make sure you pay a visit to Dolton.
