Rating: One-of-a-kind! This thatched half-house in Braderup is sure to set the hearts of individualists ablaze.
Haus Ahrens is located at Wiip Wai 1, in the quiet village of Braderup, 1 km east of Wenningstedt. It’s a 5-minute walk from the Braderuper Heide nature reserve—in a peaceful setting on a 1,200-square-meter lot, surrounded by Frisian earthworks with a lawn for sunbathing and a wind-protected terrace. The vacation home was built in 1994. It is a thatched-roof addition attached to an existing house. The two houses are completely separate. There is a separate entrance, and the terrace and garden are not visible from the “old” house.
A fireplace and underfloor heating ensure a cozy atmosphere. The living and dining room measures approximately 36 square meters and is open to the ceiling, which features a light-colored wood-clad roof. It is furnished with a spacious dining table and opens directly onto the open kitchen and out to the private terrace. The fireplace room is located five steps below the living and dining room and, with a cozy couch and additional seating, offers the perfect place to relax. A large Smart TV ensures you’ll never get bored, even in bad weather.
The well-equipped kitchen features a stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and washing machine. The upper bedroom, located above the fireplace room, has a double bed (180x200 cm) as well as ample storage space in the closets.
A staircase and a door separate the room from the living-dining area. The second bedroom, above the kitchen, is furnished with a double bed (140x200 cm) and an additional alcove-style bed/berth (80x200 cm), as well as closets and drawers. This room has no door and is also accessed via a staircase from the living-dining area. The terrace is accessible directly from the main room of the house; it faces southwest and is sheltered from the weather and prying eyes by a wall of ivy. A beach chair and a table with garden chairs invite you to relax when the weather is nice. A small dog is also welcome in this property (additional fee).
