    Having stayed in Sonitori's sister hotel the Khmer Resort in Siem Riep, we knew we wouldn't be disappointed. We have a very cute ground floor twin room - the staff are helpful & professional - food is great - location also fabulous - minutes away from tourist attractions - highly recommend

    I’ve been staying at Sara Resort for almost a week now and have had a very pleasant stay overall. It’s full-on rainy season at the moment, so we’ve had quite a lot of rain, but the room is comfortable and the staff are friendly, helpful and professional. The room is cleaned as needed, which works well for a longer stay. The pool is lovely, and the free use of kayaks is a great bonus. These are definitely things I’ve appreciated during my stay. My only real criticism is that there’s no kettle or mini fridge in the room, which I find quite surprising for a resort. With no option to make tea or coffee in the room, if you want a warm drink you have to pay $1-2 each time. A kettle and small fridge would make a big difference, particularly for guests staying several days. I did feel the price was perhaps a little on the high side for what you get, but overall I’ve enjoyed my stay. The friendly and professional staff have made a real difference, and I’d be happy to recommend Sara Resort for a comfortable stay on the island.

    We had a 5 nights stay booked in a standard double room. Unfortunately we checked out the same day we checked in. Now I know this is a remote island and I’m blaming Agoda not the hotel itself but the rating is very in inaccurate for the stars given and the money charged. If it had of been cheaper I would have accepted it. But we paid decent money for what was an extremely disappointing room. We were given our room right at the back of the resort, a very dark tiny little room. You cannot leave your curtains open as everyone can see in. I firstly sat in the bed as was tired from travelling and could NOT believe how bad the bed was. It was rock hard ! The room had no basic facilities you would expect of a 4 star. It had no fridge which I’ve never experienced before, no TV which of course is not essential. Our door didn’t shut properly so the room was full of mosquitoes. The bathroom was in need of a kick of paint to at least make it look clean. I can not comment on much else as was not staying in this room. My partner went to reception and asked if there was a better room available and was literally told “ no room “ not interested at all. We took it upon ourselves to walk 200 metres and found a far superior infact beautiful hotel of the same rating for about $26 more in total. This is not right surely ? We walked back and checked out, nothing was said to us , no care was shown and didn’t want to do anything to help us. Shocking experience really and after 2 months of travelling around Asia every year I’m fortunate to say this has not happened before. But do your research well if you intend to stay here as it’s very low standard.
