Beach holiday home in the sand dunes.

We stayed as a family of 6. 4 adults and 2 children aged 4 and 6. The house has everything you would expect if you were in your own home, including toys for the children. The kitchen was very well appointed with loads of glasses, crockery and cooking pans. Easy to use and to keep clean. The bedrooms were comfy as were the beds, with sufficient storage space. 2 bathrooms are ideal especially with small children. The house is a 10 minute walk from a lovely sandy beach. Shops in the town are great for local produce and there was a market one day. Very close to Laby Parc which is a fantastic adventure playground. Great holiday

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans cette maison lumineuse et très bien équipée. Nous avons apprécié la qualité de la literie, les deux salles d'eau, l'accès au garage et la terrasse qui donne directement dans les dunes. Idéal pour un sejour a 6 personnes en étant à son aise. Côté balades les caps griz nez / blanc nez au nord, et la baie de somme au sud, offrent des paysages et des points de vue époustouflants. L'accueil de Michael est egalement très sympathique.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tamaris. It's a really spacious place, with good sized bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen. It has a large lawn area and a nice terrace, although the weather largely prohibited us for using it! The outside area is all closed off which is great if you have young children. It's a short walk to the beach, ten minutes max i would say. The beach is very nice although also very tidal (compared to le touquet) so might be worth checking the times to avoid a big trek to the water and then a frantic dash back as the tide rushes in at certain points! Merlimont itself has a few shops and restaurants, although we came only at the start of the season and the weather was poor so much was closed. If you have young children be aware nothing opens until seven for dinner. It's a short ten/fifteen drive to le touquet and we spent a fair bit of time here as they started digging up merlimont beach during our stay. Lovely sand, a picturesque drove, and some nice looking bars/restaurants. Much less tidal here. The weather wasn't good for our stay so we explored some of the area with our children (4 and 2). Can recommend the Marais museum in Etaples (all About fishing and has some great exhibits - 15 min drive), the aquarium in bologne (45 min drive) and also we went to a theme park in Denlys whose name currently escapes me but it was spacious and clean and had some great rides for smaller children (and a couple of lower league rollercoaster for big ones). All in all, we had a great time and felt well looked after by Michael, perfect for a place to stop on our way home after Disneyland paris. The only Reason for four rather than five stars is that merlimont is looking a little tired and there was a fair bit of construction work going on which sometimes interrupts the ambience when you are in the town (although not at the house which is very very peaceful). This may be down to our visiting a bit out of season though. Thank you Tamaris!

Had a really lovely 5 day break. Beach gorgeous. We were lucky with weather. Would definitely come back again.

Nous sommes tombés sous le charme de cette location. C'est la raison pour laquelle nous sommes revenus fêter le Nouvel An, tout comme l'an passé! Accueil très chaleureux de Michael qui vous met directement à l'aise dans la maison. La maison dispose de tout le confort nécessaire (3 chambres). Elle se situe à la fin d'une rue et les dunes se trouvent juste à côté! La plage de sable est donc tout près. Il y a tous les commerces de base à 200 mètres (presse, boulangerie, épicerie...) et des bons restos avec accueil sympathique. La région est extraordinaire: Le Touquet est à 15 minutes (shopping...), Etaples à 15 minutes (noix de St Jacques pêchées le matin-même à acheter au port, ainsi que des poissonneries ouvertes à côté ; l'univers des pêcheurs, Maréis, à découvrir). Plus au nord: Boulogne (+/- 3/4h): Nausica, très gros complexe marin à découvrir; site des 2 Caps Blanc Nez et Gris Nez (+/- 50 min): superbe vue de la mer. Conseil: aller du Cap Blanc Nez vers Boulogne par la départementale (petits villages magnifiques). Plus au sud (3/4h): la Baie de Somme! Bref, superbe location et superbe situation. Que demander de plus?

We stay at the house for almost a week and everything was perfect. Michael has been very friendly and helpfull as from the moment we did the reservation. The house is fully equipped and very cozy and the location is amazing. the dunes are just reachable from the terrasse and the beach is 2 minutes walk. I would definitly recommand this house to any person willing to enjoy a relaxing moment with friends or family. I will probably go back myself :-)

We enjoyed a great holiday in Merlimont plage which is a small & quiet seaside resort only an hour away from Calais. Fantastic beach, huge. You can walk along it to the neighbouring town of Le Touquet and Berck. There are also hiking trails through the sand dunes. The house was as described on the website. Very clean, neat and tidy with the added bonus of the beds being made up ready for us. The bunk bedroom is rather small, but OK for children. The other two bedrooms are fine and it was great to have both upstairs and downstairs bathrooms and toilets. The kitchen is modern and well equipped and we made much use of the terrace with the glorious September weather. The TV has a host of English channels and the WiFi internet worked perfectly all week for those of us that had to keep in touch with work! Michael was most helpful with his “local” knowledge, especially with restaurants and markets. (Everyone enjoyed Montreuil sur mer on the Saturday). He met us with the house keys on the day we arrived and checked up on us once or twice during our stay for which we were grateful. The town centre is small but has everything you need and you can walk everywhere; it’s all so close. There is a large Carrefour supermarket just outside where you can stock up for the week. All in all a good time and worth a repeat visit.

Lovely house next to the sand dunes, fully equipped with everything you need. The house is bright and warm with adjustable radiators in every room. The house has a fast, reliable wifi connection. The house is well situated, literally next to the dunes and a short walk to the beach. We found Merlimont-Plage to be a quiet town, with a butcher, fishmonger, bakery/patisserie, grocery store and a few restaurants. The beach front has two ice cream shops. We spent a wonderful holiday here and enjoyed our time in this part of France, visiting many towns along the coast.

Tamaris is a very nice house just besides and viewed upon the dunes of Merlimont Plage. We had a great stay and the two weeks were way too short. The house is very well equiped and spacious. The property manager (Michael) gave us a very friendly welcome. Robin

We've just enjoyed a wonderful week in Merlimont. The house itself is very comfortable and had loads of room for our two kids to run around in. The courtyard provided a sea of calm where we could escape from them! Location is also fantastic. The beach is 5 mins walk down the road or a bit longer if you choose to go over the dunes. Merlimont itself was very nice and we loved the market (especially the cheese van!). Definitely recommend this as a great base for a family holiday

With it's lovely position overlooking the never ending sand dunes, and only a short stroll down to the magnificent beach combined with the fact it is less than an hour's drive from Calais, Tamaris has proved a popular holiday destination for all our family. It's pleasantly laid out inside with more than enough room for the five of us. Outside there is a garden big enough to kick a ball around in, and also a nice sun-trap courtyard, perfect for lazy long lunches. Alternatively, another favourite is to lunch down at the Brasserie de la Plage on their terrace where the kids can mess around on the beach a few feet away in between courses. Days out can include Le Touquet, or the Bagatelle amusement park, both within easy reach. But for us the main attraction for this property is certainly getting in some serious beach-time.

2 traumhafte Wochen bei absolutem Kaiserwetter sind viel zu schnell vergangen! Das Häuschen ist schlicht und zweckmäßig eingerichtet, die Lage dafür Luxus mit 5*****. Für Menschen – ob mit oder ohne Hund – und Freude an Natur und Bewegung einfach ideal. In der Vorsaison ist im Ort und der Umgebung alles sehr unaufgeregt und entspannt. Genau das, was wir gesucht haben. Die gesamte Abwicklung und Kommunikation verliefen reibungslos. Michael war für uns jederzeit erreichbar und sehr aufgeschlossen. Vielen Dank dafür! Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt absolut genossen und kommen gerne wieder. A bientot…

Das Haus macht von außen einen gepflegten Eindruck, mit einem netten Garten, der komplett eingezäunt ist. Die Küchenaustattung ist sehr gut. Manche Sachen sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen oder kaputt,z.B. der Gartentisch oder die Dunstabzugshaube. Deshalb gibt es einen Stern Abzug.

Sauber, ordentlich und gemütlich

die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter im Vorfeld und auch vor Ort lief sehr gut. Das Haus ist sehr schön und in hervorragender Lage wenn man es, wie wir, ruhig mag. Wir konnten das Auto die ganze Zeit stehen lassen und brauchten es nur 1x zu einkaufen. Direkt vor dem Haus beginnen die Wanderwege durch die Dünen und der Dünenweg zum Strand. Für uns und unsere 2 kleinen Hunde war hier alles optimal. Besonders unsere Smilla hat die Zeit sehr genossen, da hier Silvester keine Knallerei stattfindet. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Wir haben als Familie mit Hund eine wunderschöne entspannte Herbstwoche in diesem Ferienhaus erleben dürfen. Die Lage ist perfekt, nahe am Strand, der fast menschenleer war und ideal war für lange Spaziergänge mit Hund. Aufgrund der Nebensaison war im Ort vieles geschlossen, aber in den nahegelegenen Nachbarorten bekommt man alles, was man braucht. Das Haus selbst hat nichts vermissen lassen, bis auf vielleicht eine etwas besser funktionierende Kaffeemaschine, der Kaffee brauchte eine gefühlte Ewigkeit :D Der Vermieter war sehr hilfsbereit und die Kommunikation sehr nett und unkompliziert. Gerne kommen wir wieder!

Das Ferienhaus entspricht der Beschreibung und bietet alles was man braucht. Das Highlight ist auf jeden Fall die Lage. Direkt vom Haus kann man barfuß in die Dünen starten. Merlimont war in der Nebensaison sehr ruhig, was wir genossen haben.

Nice to stay near to the beach

Wir (zwei Erwachsene, zwei Kinder, ein Hund) haben im Juli/August 2021 für zwei Wochen Urlaub in Merlimont Plage gemacht. Das Haus ist im Erdgeschoss geräumig und war bei unserer Ankunft sehr sauber. Die Lage ist toll: Sehr ruhig am Ende einer Sackgasse und direkt an einem Zugang zu zwei idyllischen Rundwegen in den Dünen, die sich für die Runde mit dem Hund anbieten. Über einen dieser Wege kommt man auch an den weitläufigen Strand – oder man nimmt den direkteren Weg an der kaum befahrenen Straße entlang der Wohnhäuser und ist in fünf bis zehn Minuten am Meer. An dieser Stelle Richtung Norden (bis zur nächsten Ortschaft Stella-Plage) sind auch in der Hochsaison Hunde an der Leine am Strand erlaubt. Richtung Süden bzw. Richtung Ortszentrum am Strand nicht, dafür ist der Strandabschnitt (angeblich) beim Baden bewacht. Hunde sind aber ab dem Ende der Promenade (Segelschule) auch in südlicher Richtung (Berck sur mer) wieder erlaubt. Dort gibt es kilometerlange Sandstrände. Gen Norden in Stella-Plage ist auch wieder eine hundefreie Zone. Bei Ebbe zieht sich das Meer recht stark zurück, so dass man eine entsprechende Distanz zurücklegen muss, wenn man zum Wasser will. Der Strand ist dadurch sehr weitläufig und das Panorama toll. Am Haus kann man sowohl die Terrasse mit Blick auf die Dünen nutzen, als auch die große Wiese neben dem Haus und der Garage, mit Abendsonne. Alles ist eingezäunt – optimal für kleine Kinder und Hunde. Der Ort Merlimont Plage ist in fünf Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen und bietet Bäcker, Touristen-Info, Mini-Supermarkt, Fischhändler, Fahrradverleih, einige Restaurants, Minigolf und ein paar Geschäfte. An einigen Abenden spielten sogar verschiedene Bands. Ausflugsmöglichkeiten in der Gegend gibt es reichlich. Besonders hat uns ein geführter Ausritt am Strand bei Berck gefallen (https://berck-loisirs.com/equitation/). Dort in der Nähe vom Leuchtturm liegen bei Ebbe jede Menge Seehunde auf den Sandbänken, an die man relativ nah herankommt. Auch das ist wirklich ein Erlebnis! Oder man fährt nach Ault zu den Kreidefelsen und schaut sich auf dem Weg das hübsche Örtchen Saint Vallery sur Somme an. Nicht in Merlimont, aber beim Fischhändler in Stella Plage gibt es auch Salicorne. Ein Bio-Supermarkt ist in Merlimont Ville, ca. 3 km entfernt in einem kleinen Einkaufszentrum (neben Supermarkt und Bäcker). Der Kontakt zum Vermieter verlief unproblematisch und wir würden das Haus wieder buchen, wenn wir in der Gegend Urlaub machen.

Superbe semaine passée à Merlimont: la maison donne directement sur un petit chemin dunaire qui accède à la plage. La maison est équipée suffisamment, avec du matériel robuste, sans super flux. Michael est très disponible en cas de besoin même s'il n'est pas sur place. Nous avons apprécié le mode de récupération des clés sans contact qui nous a permis de nous installer facilement après 900km avec nos enfants de 2 ans et de 3 mois. Merci !

Super maison pour passer ses vacances au bord de la mer avec la famille.

Villa très agréable, confortable, lumineuse, très propre et idéale pour les balades à la plage. Michaël, le propriétaire est très accueillant. Merci pour ce séjour !

La région est belle et la maison idéalement placée pour de belles balades dans les dunes .Nous pensons revenir .Par contre il a des améliorations à apporter;il y a des volets qui ne fonctionnent pas , les housses de couette ne ferment pas , les lampes extérieur ne s’allument pas , il y a une ampoule à changer à l’intérieur dans la pièce principale.

La maison correspondait au descriptif et à nos attentes. Elle était parfaite pour notre groupe (4 adultes et 2 jeunes enfants). Bien équipée et à proximité de la plage. Le village en soi est assez décevant mais la plage est magnifique et parfaite pour de jeunes enfants.

Belle maison correspondant aux photos avec petit jardin, garage et superbe cour sans vis à vis donnant sur les dunes, Plage et commerces à proximité, pas besoin de la voiture . cependant elle manque un peu d’entretien : matériel parfois abîmé ou cassé. Ravie de notre séjour, nous y reviendrons

Les photos présentées sont plutôt avantageuses par rapport à la réalité, tant sur la taille des pièces que sur l’état général de la maison. La maison est globalement propre, mais il y a beaucoup d’équipements hors d’usage, cassés ou très fatigués (sangles de volets, volets coincés, lavabo fendu, porte de douche sortie de son rail). Un problème d’écoulement d’eau et de mauvaises odeurs ont également gâché la fin de notre séjour. Ce manque d’entretien est dommage, car la maison est idéalement située, au calme et le spectacle des dunes est magique.

Wir haben eine schöne Woche im Haus Tamaris verbracht und waren von der Landschaft an der Opalküste begeistert und können einen Aufenthalt in diesem Haus empfehlen
