If you’re looking for a "budget" stay in Whistler during peak season, HI Hostel Whistler is likely your best bet, though "budget" is relative—we paid ***/night in Feb 2026.
The Good: The staff are legends; 24/7 check-in was seamless and they explained everything perfectly. You get free parking (rare for Whistler!) and the views from the room were incredible. There’s a park right behind the building and a solid kitchen/lounge area to hang out in.
The Not-So-Good: The rooms are very basic. If you’re picky about sleep, heads up: the beds are low and hard, and the pillows have seen better days. The ensuite shower is tiny and the toilet didn't have a cover. It’s a 15-20 minute drive into the main Village, so you definitely need a car or to plan for the bus. Good for a place to crash, but don't expect luxury!

I really enjoyed staying here. Everything is well organized and thoughtfully arranged. The kitchen is very convenient to use, the dining area is spacious, and the common areas are large and comfortable. The bathrooms are very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a great stay and I felt very comfortable here.

3rd time staying and each time it gets better. More activities offered although we were too tired to join in, they looked fun! Next time! The cheaky cafe is great and the staff there are so accommodating. Room 305 was big and comfortable. The view in the Queen rooms are amazing, each time I come it is breathtaking. Looking forward to booking again, please keep the place safe, clean, and affordable. ❤️☃️

Good night’s sleep in a friendly, well equipped, clean facility just minutes from the village. I’d definitely stay again.
