This beautiful property stole our hearts back in 2019, when my now-wife first visited this magical place. Six years later, we returned — this time to celebrate our wedding reception after tying the knot a few months earlier. From start to finish, everything was beyond wonderful. A special mention to Sandra, the amazing coordinator who made everything run so smoothly, and her fantastic team — Delfina and the lovely lady (whose name, unfortunately, I’ve forgotten) who graciously welcomed and ushered our guests upon arrival. Every detail was handled with care and professionalism. The food and Chianti wines during our celebration were absolutely exceptional — truly a highlight that everyone still talks about! The breakfast and dinner staff were attentive, kind, and ensured everything was perfect throughout our stay. Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, with housekeeping doing a fantastic job. We also had the privilege of meeting Mr. John Matta, the owner — such a gracious and inspiring man who leads an extraordinary team. All of our guests loved their stay, and we left with hearts full of joy and gratitude. We can’t wait to come back again — hopefully for our anniversary next time.

This is a castle built on the top of a hill in the 12th century, so the architecture is stunning. The building itself has been updated so all the comforts of modern life are present. On premise winery offers great tours and wine. The on premise included breakfast was excellent. Parking was free and easy. Fantastic place! We hope to return with a big group of friends soon.

A beautiful place! The castle and staff are fine. No air conditioning anywhere and it was super hot. This is not a good option for anyone with limited mobility. You have to carry your bags quite a distance across gravel to your room and then upstairs while dealing with keys and gates. Our room (michaelangelo) is needing an updo and smelled like mold upstairs. Infinity pool was wonderful and views are the best in Tuscany. We stayed for dinner, which was actually pretty good but again, no air conditioning and hot. Same with breakfast. Private tour is overpriced compared to others in area but guide was knowledgeable. Biggest complaints by far were the air conditioning and Internet. Ciao!

An unforgettable experience. The hotel was stunning, rich character and spotlessly clean. Service was standout as staff we very welcoming and down to earth whilst providing what felt like a luxury experience. Would recommend both the wine tour lunch and evening meal as the food was superb in a the most picturesque setting. Looking forward to returning in future.

Beautiful property overlooking the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside. Picturesque setting with gourmet restaurant and a pool. People who work there were very nice and accommodating. We arrived after the front desk closed, so someone stayed a little later to show us around. We had a 2 bedroom apartment, it was spacious and had all modern amenities. This is a working vineyard so we took a wine tour which included the wine cellars, wine tasting and lunch with an amazing view of the vineyards. Our stay exceeded our expectations. Very happy I chose this propery.

The castel is beautiful. The view is really stunning. The restaurant is amazing. We stayed there for one night, in sunday. We had lunch at its restaurant and at night we had an amazing picnic that they provided to us. Really recommended!

Beautiful setting, an incredible building with history. The pool is wonderful with a fabulous view. Breakfast caters for everyone with a super variety of pastries, eggs, bacon, cold meats and cheeses. The rooms are very large and comfortable with all the facilities you’d need.. take milk at breakfast if you like it with hot drinks in your room. There is an honesty room where you can purchase drinks and crisps… just fill out the slip. It’s difficult to get your cases up to the main building from the carpark. The restaurant has limited hours ( we may be out of season) but there are some fabulous places to eat in Greve. Beautiful little chapel on-site. The staff are wonderful and the standard of cleanliness is exceptional. If you want peace, views and a good book this is your place. Fabulous

We had the Boticelli room. The room was really Big but the end was very Small and very inconfortable. We hit ourselves on the frame of the bed many Times because the mattress was way to thin. The shower was very narrow and the hot water was unpredictable. One minute it was very hot and the next cold. When you pay 300$ for a room, you expect better. When we gave this feed-back at checkout, we were offered a bottle of their wine (value of 10 euros). You really pay for the fact that you are in a old castle (with people buried in the chapel by the way)

Our stay in Castello Vicciomaggio was a dream location and accommodation in the heart of Tuscany. It gives the sights, sounds and everything else you want from a winery/stay in Chianti. It was the most expensive place we stayed while in Tuscany, but gave us the most back in return. You're not just paying for a place to stay, you're getting the wow factor, soul food, and exceptional memorys.

Our room was nice and the property was very pretty but the check-in process was disappointing. Because it is low season, they tried to move us from our beautiful apartment which we paid for to an “upgrade“ which was a much smaller and less expensive suite. If they had simply asked us to change rooms because of low occupancy, we would have considered the request, but instead the woman who checked us in lied to us and said that she was “upgrading us“ to a room which ended up being much smaller and cheaper and we had to insist on getting the room we paid for. I’ve never actually experienced anything like it anywhere else in my travels. I’d love a terrible taste for our stay.

I loved the warm hospitality, the staff made you feel like you were at home. They treated us with kindness and offered us a ride to and from our villa to the vineyard ( we didn’t bring transportation)… we thought the rain would pass and decided to walk back after our wine tour.. but after a few mins of walking and downpour, we were offered a ride back still. Just felt very kind and well taken care of. It was my husbands birthday one of the days we were staying and they were so kind to help give me ideas before hand ( I had emailed a few months prior and they had reached out promptly). they gave us a great recommendation for a couples massage and I was able to have the massage in our room (company was Chianti massage I believe). It was amazing and my husbands 1st massage, he still talks about our stay and how warm and special it felt. Thank you for making our stay so special and truly was a breathtaking view!

I expected more from this place, but not what I expected they only have dinner three days a week, so basically you have figured it out. The air conditioner is sooo loud that you barely sleep at night. Some hotel staff are very helpful… others one don’t even say hi.
