I tried to cancel because of a funeral, they didn’t even contact me back to say no, I asked for a voucher to use at letter date as I stay in Gosport a lot, useless poor customer care and greedy money grabbing.

Room was ridiculously small - should not be advertised as double No bedside table either side One person had to crawl out of bottom of bed After showering room become like Vietnam on a humid day - extractor fan not adequate Two people cannot move around this room Felt like 1990’s student accommodation at its worse

Room was clean and tidy had kettle and tea and coffee available no water for kettle had to go downstairs to fill kettle bed was ok but it was two singles pushed together TV signal wasn't great not that we where there to watch TV but if it's there it should work well enough to watch but overall it was somewhere to lay our heads overnight

Portsmouth hotel review Gosport Inn, aka Acorn Lodge Hotel Helpful about parking, but room well below standard We were allowed to park in the hotel car park from before check-in time until after check-out time, which we greatly appreciated. There was good hot water which ran hot very quickly. However, the room was very disappointing. Grossly inadequate ventilation - the room was unpleasantly hot. The window was limited to about an inch of opening. Window restrictors are generally not a legal requirement for all hotels, but they are recommended, to prevent falls. There should be a way to override the restrictor in case of fire or other emergencies and the hotel failed to provide this, which could have been used to increase ventilation. There was a fan, which helped a bit. Ill-fitting cheap carpet No bedside table or lamp on one side of the double bed The shaver light in the bathroom did not work. No hand towel was provided. In the bathroom, there was no shelf for toiletries The online listing for a double room did not reveal that it was accessed only by several flights of stairs.

The stay was really calming and relaxing, staff were welcome and ran through everything thoroughly made sure everything was okay. The only complaint I do have was the bed was just to springy for me but that just me being picking but overall an amazing stay

Just a quick overnight stay as working in the area. Hotel was in a good location to the town so plenty of places to get a meal. The Hotel had a small amount of parking around the rear of the property. Hotel was secure and felt safe. The room's were very well equipped, the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean with a great shower.

The stay was amazing and Bashar has excellent communication skills and was very helpful. I would recommend this place and stay again if in the area. The room and bed was comfortable and clean too and parking was free.

Dear Angela, you don’t get to make the choice of putting someone in a poxy, less than single bed room rather than the double they PAID FOR because you think they’re travelling alone (which was an innocent booking mistake!). Any deposit that is held for 7 days even though we only stayed one night is ridiculous. What are you holding a deposit for when the place looks like it does? The door of the room had 3 locks, not including the pass card entry, and only 1 worked - which was the chain. Curtains don’t close fully either side, annoying for ground floor rooms, and are very stiff.

It’s a 3 star stay but with 5 star cleanliness and service, lovely people and the room was big with a very clean comfortable bed, the decor was nice enough but a little rough around the edges, certainly why it’s a 3 star- fresh paint but not to the highest of standards, functional furniture but needs updating etc, I would stay there again.

Last minute request for an extra £20 deposit, Hole in the wall behind the bedroom door, Some black staining (maybe mould) on bathroom floor between tiles, Broken bedroom curtains, carpet lifting by the bedroom door, but mostly the extra deposit which I must get back.
